While wrenching on Uncle Sugars anti submarine aircraft and other birds I had the Value of a check list hammered into my teenage gourd numerous times. Had More than one E-6  E-7  E-8  E-9 Willing beyond belief to point out the error of my ways. Lets just say I have some printed and/or hand written procedures I follow on my Phatt Ghurl. To this day I can NOT just leave on a ride or a drive with out a walk around. Specially when I'm travelin. RIDE SAE.

Kinda the same, only different.
I was 16 and the proud owner of a sorta thrashed '65 Olds Cutlass F-85 Convertible.
Jacking up the car prior to my, and its first oil change in my stewardship.
Jack cradle goes on the oil pan and I pump like mad.
Oil pan crushes, pewing much oil then the last friends quit holding hands on the driver's side motor mount. Oil EVERYWHERE, and the un opened hood is really bowed and wont open.
Nope, never had any problems. Issues are more fun anyways.

Yeah, I'm no expert, but I've never done any of that.

Remind me not to let any of you change my oil.   Grin

After the centered-up drain (oil always smoking hot), I lean my bike way over right and hold it for a minute, and tap the starter a couple times (catch pan and a big lawn and leaf bag under it).

I always get the whole gallon in (with filter), and as Joe Pesci and Marisa Tomei say.... it's balls-on accurate on the dip.
