This is for my 1200 project bike, I have a set of Valkyrie bars and controls mounted on it but it's not real solid. The bike originally had 7/8" bars which looked rather puny so I went with the Valk spare bar I had. The top tree where the bars originally sat is made with an integral 7/8" pocket for the bars, then a 7/8" clamp/cap is bolted down on the bars. I find all kinds of adapters that bolt into the 7/8" pocket but are for mounting 1 1/8" bars, never find them to mount 1" bars. Does anybody have a source for such an item, drives me nuts looking for such a simple thing.

John , am I reading this right. You want the risers adapted or do you have room to ream(bore) out the risers. If it is boring , I may have the reamer. I will be at my shop in a couple hours.

Could you go to the 1 1/8 then use some kind of shim to get down to 1 inch.

Ramie, I have it shimmed now with some thin strips of aluminum but it's not real solid. Probably would work better if they were knurled.

Ross, the handlebar cradle is an integral part of the top tree so I'd probably have to pull the tree to bore it out. That is....unless your tool is one I could use on a hand held drill. I guess I would have to bolt the top clamps in place first. I fail to understand why there's all kinds of adapters for the 1 1/8"  but never see any for 1" bars.
