Dean Breecher posted on  Valkyrie riders Facebook page where to buy. I shared it on my site. Maybe somebody can transfer it to our board or I'll do what I can . I'm not the greatest behind the helm of these electronic things.

I dont remember the exact wording but I think he implied that there are other applications for that u-joint.

Yup suppose to be  other applications for the joint , I'd like to know how he came up with it being used for a boat engine.
Thanks for posting that site, I figured it would give people a different avenue to shop for one.

FWIW, when I order parts from Partzilla, they come in a box with Boats.Net on the side....

I'm still trying to understand where there is an advantage to using a repair kit designed for a lawn tractor on a Valkyrie?

I'm try to figure out why they are so expensive. I did a quick look and about the most expensive u-joint I found was about $50. That was for a heavy duty 4 wheel drive truck. I realize Honda doesn't sell a lot of u-joints which could be a factor.

But really?  $125-$135 ????

You think that's bad ? Wait till you price a piece of plastic covering the alternator. Supply and demand.  Smiley

If it's just the joint, and doesn't include the yoke...it's not gonna work on the valk...the yoke on the valk is NOT machined correctly for a ujoint to be clipped in...(there was somebody here machining them to accept a replacement joint but I don't remember who)...

If you clip a joint in (without the alteration to the yoke) it won't (necessarily) be on-center and will not last long.

I couldn't see how that would possibly be useful on a Valk, hence my questions.

I read that whole thread a few days ago but I can't remember how I found it. It is several years old. The company that modified u-joints and yokes no longer does the work.

I looked more closely and read the text.  You're not buying a u-joint. You're buying 2 yokes and a u-joint.  I get the $135 price.

Honda probably has a fixture to install the u-joint to the correct location and then stakes them in place.
