Personally,  I would fight back in the day Mike Tyson for a cool 1 million.  I may not last 2 rounds, but can take a punch or two or three for that kind of dough..

Cookiedough,

You should watch that clip that Bill put up, then go back and modify your post to say 20 seconds rather than 2 rounds lol

I have never seen him fight before, I was never really interested, but man can he punch!

I said 'back in the day' not now, meaning some 20+ years ago.  Call me ignorant, do not care, I would have still done it way back when even if it was only for 20-30 seconds for millions.

Anyways,  who won the fight tonight not that many on here really care?  If I was a beating man, I would put money on mcgregor since he is a huge underdog, but 1-2 good shots could put the much older mayweather down for the count.  Would be a sore spot on boxing''s legacy if a good UFC fighter comes in and knocks out one of the better true boxing fighters in that weight class.

I usually don't care for sportsball, but that was kinda entertaining to watch.

Now, I'd really like to see a rematch under the wrestling rules the Irish guy fights under, THAT would make it more interesting! Cheesy

Last fight I saw was Moneyweather and Pacman fight. If maydancer would have actually had to box instead of dance, pacman would have worn him down to a nub. But.....the dance routine won him the fight. Money maker, yes, real fighter, not so much.  He'll win this one too, because he doesen't  ;Dhave to do anything but dance around, land a punch once in a while.  I'd love to see them tie there waists together with about a 4 foot rope and watch them battle it out. Now that would be a fight.

Yeah, it'll be Mayweather dancing and jabbing, avoiding a fight. McGregor will be taunting and chirping, trying to lure him into a fight. Mayweather will dance and jab for 10 rounds until Mac gasses then maybe TKO him.

Having said that, I'd love if they came out swinging and Mac knocked him out in 2.

Ahem... 2funny

I watched with some friends. Was pulling for the Irishman. I gave first 3 rounds to McGregor, 4 a tie, 5,6,7, to Mayweather, 8 a tie, 9 to Mayweather, and of course the 10th to Mayweather. McGregor ran out of gas, his arms were hanging, and he probably would never have won in 12. He looked out of gas from 9 on! If he was going to win, it had to be in the first few rounds!

Hmmm.....a 40 yr. old vs. a 29 yr. old, and the 40 yr. old won.  That alone tells me that Mayweather was a better ring general than the loudmouth Irishman. Then add the power & skills gained from years in the ring. Personally I didn't care which way it went since I had no interest from the start, but when I heard the age difference and time in the ring, I felt Mayweather had the edge.

If it was a MMA  match it would  not even have been a fight.

I'm surprised the fight lasted that long. I think Mayweather decided to go easy and let the paying costumers savor the fight a bit longer... maybe trying to make up for the Pacquio fight?

When Mayweather finally decided to start to really hit, he landed some big blows to the face of McGregor with no defense whatsoever against them.  McGregor was pretty much a heavy bag for the ninth and tenth rounds; barely kept his legs under him.  The referee stopped it in time so that McGregor didn't have to wake up on a chair in his corner and saved him from that humiliation.  Post fight interviews convinced me that the guy has scrambled eggs inside his cranium (but he's got 100 mil for his efforts).  Best payday he'll ever see. uglystupid2

Had some friends watching the fight last night they claimed it was more staged than a WWE match .

what, WWE is stage?  Never knew that?  Roll Eyes

boxing for big card names is way, way too BIG of payout in my eyes.  100 million for LOOSING - get real, no sporting event for one person (and their crew) is worth shelling out 100 mil. to one person.

Mayweather now can live very comfy the rest of his life if he invests wisely.    So, can the loser at 100 mil.

If you figure you are worth 1 million to go 2 rounds with Tyson, I'd say 100 mil was about right for McGregor.  coolsmiley

i agree with this. I thought he was trying not to end it too soon or one sided to make a rematch a possibility.  For possible millions more, I thought it was smart.

I watched the fight live and for those that say McGregor won the first few rounds...you need to know that was part of the master plan. Mayweather hardly threw a punch in the first round and very few in the next couple.
No doubt he followed Ali's strategy almost to a "T" when he took out George Foreman in Zaire way back when. That was where the Rope A Dope strategy was pretty much created.

There was no doubt in my mind Conor was going to punch himself out and then it'd be all over. I had 3 Son in Laws saying McGregor was going to win. I told them all exactly what was going to happen. They now think their Father in Law is a little smarter than before the fight.

With that said, Conor would destroy Floyd in an MMA match---probably within a minute or two. And that's why you'll never see that fight. Smiley

mayweather is pretty sure done fighting after this one.  I saw the interview prior to the fight and he said this is it and he seemed pretty confident of that saying it the way he said it.  He does not need any more money and he said he invested his money smartly and was not going to fight again this fight either but I guess money talks?   Roll Eyes

You're right.

They become a 30% partner in all your endeavors.  The more you make the more people you have to hire to keep that partner from taking more and more.

A lot of people made a lot of money on this one.  Managers make 10%, right.  That 10 and 3 million to those two.

BTW,

I thought it was great to see a good non-title fight, finally.  This was a very good fight, in my opinion.  I pretty much agree with the rounds won assessments above, and that McG just ran out of steam.  May won simply because he had the experience and the wisdom.  50 professional fights to 1 professional fight.  THAT alone told me who was going to win.  I don't think the fight was fixed at all.

51-0 if you count him beating his wife...  Probably even more than that.
