Another case of justifying stupidity if it lines up with ones philosophy.  coolsmiley

Only if you deny the existence of God.
So, if a ditzy blonde actress with a liberal persuasion says something stupid its wrong. If a dumbass actor with a religious conservative persuasion says something stupid its ok. Be careful, your bias is showing. That dude knows nothing more about what caused that hurricane than that dudette. But because he is a "Christian" and she is a "anti Trumper" you assume he is right and she is wrong. Interesting theory you have.  Wink

You need to go back and actually read what I said.

I have never said that I believed the statement of one over the other.

Her statement is stupid because Donald Trump does NOT have the power to create a hurricane.

His statement is misguided because God does indeed have the power to create and direct hurricanes.

However, I do not believe that God is sending hurricanes upon us to punish us for our wicked ways.

They should  however humble us and remind us that we are not in charge.

If you guys would read the actual stories rather than simply reading misleading headlines, you would see that Jennifer Lawrence never said Trump created a hurricane, and that the Kirk Cameron headlines also misrepresent what he said.  This whole controversy is created by biased headline writers and readers too lazy to look beyond the headlines.

Guilty as charged. Never read one sentence of either story. What celebrities spout has little interest for me. What does interest me is the hypocrisy of people .

You're right she didn't say that Donald Trump created hurricanes she said that he caused them.

The actress blames the recent hurricanes to strike the US on the president's denial of climate change.

The interviewer reminded the star that the US went to the polls just under a year ago and chose Trump, to which Lawrence answered, 'And we voted and it was really startling'.

Then Lawrence insinuated that the deadly hurricanes were inflicted upon the USA because climate-change denying voters chose the billionaire tycoon.

Granted this is the author's take on her words. But I don't have much reason to believe that the author was exaggerating them.

After all she does have a history where Trump is concerned:

Quote
It's also not the first time Lawrence has spoken out against Trump.
Back in 2015 when Trump was just starting to campaign, she spoke to Entertainment Weekly in a similarly apocalyptic manner, commenting 'If Donald Trump becomes president, that will be the end of the world,' says Lawrence.

The actress is pleasant to look at but  once she opens her mouth...

She would fit into an episode of Jaywalking just fine

RJ would have something funny to say about this thread - sure miss him

He knew a lot of the starlets back in the day and had a way with words

I suppose that she NEVER said this either:

If you like her and feel the need to defend her honor, that's OK.

As far as I'm concerned, She's a dumb twit and if brains were made of dynamite she wouldn't have enough to blow her nose.

You really don't understand my point.  It's not her honour I'm defending; it's Truth I'm defending.  Lawrence is not on my list of actors I really like as people, and it seems that whenever I like an actor, the moment they open their mouth to say something off script, they lose much of their appeal.

The writers of headlines and articles attributing foolish words to people who didn't actually say those words, and you and others who repeat the malicious misquotes, are employing Satan's strategy of twisting the words of his enemy, “Did God actually say, ‘You shall not eat of any tree in the garden’?”

It defies logic to presume that because someone verifiably said something foolish in the past, they must have made the equally foolish statement they are presently accused of saying, without a verifiable citation.

Now, to defend Lawrence's intelligence, you can't be a completely dumb if you can be the second youngest actress ever to win a best lead actress at 22 years old.  She's in her twenties and lives in the Hollywood movie industry, a giant left-wing echo chamber where Trump is the Great Satan, and no-one's left-wing ideology is ever questioned, especially when one is the most in-demand actress in the world.  I know plenty of people who, in their twenties, thought they knew everything when clearly they didn't.  Some stay that way their whole lives; hopefully Lawrence doesn't.
