Years ago, on Smokin' Joe's rides, he would take frequent smoke breaks.
Standard procedure was to dismount the bike, shade your eyes with your hand, and say:
 "We're the Fugowi"

A throwback to the first season of F-Troop - the name of the Indian Tribe that was always lost....

Check out the wooden Indian in the photo, and the name of the NC town...

Yep Iron Eyes Cody.  Wopaho,  I thought it was the Dagonut Tribe.  I could be mistaken.


A couple years back or so the Picker boys ( Frank and Mike ) picked some memorabilia from one of his relatives I think where I learned some of his history.

I think F Troop gave me more laughs than any other comedy in the sixty's,  except maybe Green Acres.
