Leaving from The Village of Sanibel Saturday for the BBQ, anyone riding through the area l am riding not driving. Projected a 45 min ride using WAZE.  Weather is not going to detour my ambition to ride. Looking forward to a cool ride after all the hot summer weather. Insulated coveralls a must for the ride up as for the ride home temps are going to be in the upper 50s.  I will check back here or find me @ JCAMEN

Will be there!!!  I have seen many posts from Valk owners up north riding in 30 degree weather so I guess I can rough it.

I rode to Crystal River this morning (60 miles round trip) just to see what 38 degree's with 13mph winds would feel like. Rode up 19 so I could ride between 65 and 70 and the only thing that was a little cold was my finger tips so I need a heavier glove :coolsmiley:. I will be riding my bike, hopefully not alone but it's all part of the adventure 8)

See you all there :cooldude:

;) Rode out with several last Sat. on the End of the Year Ride to Stockton, AL. Starting temp about the same, 39. Great ride and it warmed up to about 55. Love the cooler temps cause I like my leathers!
Bert, Bill and I are planning on leaving Friday around noon to allow the 28 temp to rise above 40+. Get more than half way and have a nice Sat. ride in to your place. Hopefully getting a little further south for the evening might allow for a Sat. starting temp of 40+?  If something changes I'll know by Thursday evening. Still looking forward to the BBQ w/ the Valk Brothers of FL.  :coolsmiley:

Hey JC, where is the Village of Sanibel?
Down SW of Ft. Myers, basically you have to go through Ft. Myers to get to Sanibel/Sanibel Island.

There is a section of the Villages named this. Maybe that is it?

Aha....didn't know that. I prefer the one down south, more than once having spent some quality time on the island there with Rita in years past.  :cooldude:

I was hoping to have "Awesome" ready to ride, but if we will be welcome in a cage, Sharon and I would like to attend.

I am sorry to say that I will not be attending this event..  The weather up here has made it impossible for me to ride my bike down from New York.  We have been in the single digits for the past week.  Had a heat wave today, with the temps reaching into the 20's.  Not for long though, because they are predicting 12 inches starting tonight at midnight with winds reaching 40MPH.  It would not be a smart move to even consider riding my bike down with the snow that we are suppose to get and all of the salt that is covering the road.  Hope the weather improves for you guys.

:-[ Thanks and maybe mother nature will cooperate better next year so I can make it down  :'(

_Sheffjs_

Bummer bull but nice attempt, next year for sure

Sorry guys, been real busy checking out homes in Costa Rica. I hear it never gets cold there!
Kim & I will be there. Only saving grace to the ride is that it will be short for us!
This weather is just horrible.  >:(

Sorry to say, I won't be able to make it this time.  I'm recuperating from a spill I took in early November and trying to get my left arm working again.  Hopefully, I can make it another time.  I'm sure fun will be had by all.  Keep warm and ride safe!

Bert-I won't be able to join you guys Saturday. I am nursing a case of the flu. Don't think I should share it with everyone. I hope you guys have a good time. Thanks for the invitation.

Feel better, appreciate that u don't want to share your Cooties  :cooldude: I avoided NY this season because I always get sick when I go up. We will try hard to eat your share of food, and anyone else that can't attend  :2funny: :crazy2:

Roxie will not be along, as she is coming down with something. She is staying home in bed. However, we did get the Potato salad done, and I will be bringing it, along with Greg and Sandy and some Interstate Goodies that he wants to sell.

We will be two up tomorrow, Kim has some foot injections she is nursing but I think the real reason is she wants to use me as a windblock.  ;)
