Pappy!

Got a question.
Lesa and I will be driving back from West Tenn. and am thinking of doing some of hwy. 98 on the way back. We may stay somewhere around Panama City Beach on Monday the 29th.
Where is a laid back place to stay around there and good Local Seafood restaurant that night or for lunch on the way back to Central Florida on Tuesday?
Thanks for the info!

Bighead

Not many Laid back places in Panama City but there is a good Local seafood place in PCB that is called the Sand Bar that I frequent every time I am in the area :cooldude:

Mexico Beach has "Killer Seafood" (that's the name of the Restaurant) and Rustic Sands campground which does have cabins , I think we paid 85.00 a night and it slept 4, it has a pool and is only about a mile off of Hwy 98 on 15th street.  pretty laid back.  It is a dirt road campground, but many RV's that have Bikes stay here.

Good luck and enjoy,

these directions are coming "FROM" Panama city
Toucans- down around 8th street on Hwy 98 Mexico Beach - not far from Rustic Sands Campground

St. Joe Marina restaurant - turn right at 1st light in Port St. Joe at Mcdonalds -down on left.

Coastal Grill in St. Joe "pricey"  just past 2nd light -on right

Let's not forget about the " INDIAN PASS RAWBAR " if you like Apalachicola oyster's served  a 100 different ways.  go thru Port St. Joe and Y off to the right towards Cape San Blas- follow road CR30 ( this used to be the old Hwy 98 ) about 10 miles or so on the left.

Papa Joe's in Apalachicola- go to 2nd light (blinking) in Apalachicola and turn left- down on the right

All Great food,

Hey Pappy, If you can make a night in Apalachicola on 98 I think you both would like it. Its an old fishing town and the Gibson Hotel is an historical spot. This area is where a few of us from Pensacola/Milton/Crestview met up with Mike and Liz and another Valk couple on a White Goldwing. Killing me that i can remember their names off the top of my head.  :uglystupid2: ( age thing ) The Gibson had a great dinner menu and there were some nice other eating places around as well. We ate at a great place in Port St. Joe called the Sunset Grill one afternoon as well.
Cape San Blas is beautiful area along w/ the St. George Island area. Enjoy your ride and the next time stay a little longer and maybe we can put together a gathering of some sort. Great food and folks.
