glad Joe is having a quick recovering. His event caused me to buy equipment I never really thought about getting, even though I've used a chainsaw many times over the years and knew the dangers. right now Labonville chaps which some consider the best by many are on sale here. http://www.bartlettman.com/40-Inch-LABONVILLE-CHAINSAW-CHAP_p_1448.htmljoin their mailing list and get 10% off coupon not good for sale items. However free shipping $99 and over so bought a shirt, 10% off on that and put me over $99. Bought ECHO OEM Chain Saw Gloves (Large) 99988801601 $30.40 and free shipping at http://www.griggsmowerparts.com/99988801601.html lowest price I could fine seem to be best gloves out there, dbl layer kelvar on top both hands and goat skin leather palms.

I think I can score a pair at work if not I'll check this thread out again . I'm saying I'll never touch my Farm Boss without them right now however after going down years ago on my bike my wife bought a full face modular helmet riding jacket with body armor etc. Helmet is on a shelf and jacket is hanging in the garage both worn twice I think. The helmet " closed " in on me and after riding awhile it started feeling like a cinder block on my head.... Thanks for posting

Having signed up for Medicare this year, and officially joining the old guy's club, I'm a bit disappointed to discover that just doing a hard day's physical labor in the yard and scape wears me out and makes me sore (even without any major injuries). I've tried this work smarter, not harder idea, but most of it doesn't have any smarter way around it. The work still needs done, and I'm too cheap to pay it done..... yet. My shovel and pick/adze got some work yesterday... I loaned them to a neighbor.

Some things are preventable. Learned several lessons the hard way....... Had a chain saw hit a hidden nail in a log once. The end result was eye surgery that left permanent damage. Eye protection would have been a great idea about then. Rams

Those look like they would make excellent motorcycling gloves, especially at that price!

gloves showed up today. very nice. kevlar on top is from wrist to tips of fingers. the side of the hand and small finger are covered and the thumb is surrounded except the grip area which is the goat skin. Large fits nice and tight. If I was going to use for riding I would go a size larger.
