I'm westbound on a 6 lane coming to a light where it crosses a 6 lane. The two left lanes are for left turns and I'm in the right one as we approached the intersection and the light is red. Suddenly this bimbo driving a rather new Nissan sedan at the very last second decided she needed to get into the nearest left turn lane so whipped over in front of me sans any signal, which wouldn't have made any difference. I caught the left rear corner of her car and spun her around before I could stop. She now is sitting sideways across two left turn lanes, jumps out of her car screaming bloody murder at me and letting loose with some rather foul language. Meantime, two pickups pull up, one on each side, the guys tell her it was her fault and to shut up and get back in her car and thank her lucky stars we weren't going that fast. I took the time to look at my front bumper, just a small white brush mark but no dents so just wrote it off. It loosened her bumper on the left corner but not completely so she decided since there were at least a half dozen witnesses when the light changed she just drove off. As she left she rolled down her window far enough to show me her IQ number, I simply waved back, judging by her driving skills, I already knew the IQ. The white brush mark came of with some Goof Off, leaving no evidence of contact. The girl looked to be college age, I'm hopeful she isn't going into the education field.  crazy2

You should have gotten her car tag and called it in as a hit and run.....she did leave the scene.....that would have taught her a lesson.

Yes Mike, and we have our share around here with three institutions of "higher learning(?)"  That's UCF, Full Sail University, and Rollins College. Then add to the mix the usual brain deads texting on their cell phones(that was the case here), you have a real challenge on your hands.

I agree with writing down her tag number (and make, model, color).  If I had a cell phone, I'd have snapped a picture of her too.  It's legal, it's smart, and it's intimidating.  (Though there can be problems with the wife finding a picture of a strange woman on your phone  Grin)  I'd have also snapped a single shot of how both cars came to rest.

But it's not leaving the scene of an accident if there was no significant damages, no injuries, and both parties were in agreement.  If you reported she left the scene without your agreement, it's a false police report.

The only down side in something like this is if she goes right to the cops and says you hit her (with a little better story (for her) than the truth).  Would have been a good idea to get a name and number of at least one of your witnesses (or at least their plate numbers).  Unfortunately,  the old story about the first one going to the cops being ahead of the game is mostly true.  Especially if it comes down to only he said, she said (and no other witnesses).

I usually back into parking spots. Walgreens , I started to back in and a car pulls in behind me. I stop as I did not want to scratch my rusty bumper. I pull ahead and start for another spot. She does it again. I get out of the truck and she starts screaming , "It's illegal to back in to a parking spot".
I walked closer and asked if she was the parking lot police. Her boyfriend started to get out. Don't do it I told him. As for you , I have more time on the toilet than you have breathing. I am getting back in my truck and will back up and over you if you don't move. Do not try me.  She moved and did not even go into the store.

Loading up groceries in the Walmart parking lot a couple of days ago and heard this loud crashing sound.  Looked up to see an SUV's bumper hit the ground.  I mean the whole front end of the SUV had been sideswiped by an older pickup truck and torn off.  Glad I didn't actually see it as I suspect the girl driving the SUV was preoccupied or she would have seen the truck going across the parking lot.  Granted he probably shouldn't have been going across the lot but there were no other cars around them.  She got out with her cell phone in hand waving it around and had that what the heck just happened look.
Glad it was superficial John.

Hm, wasn't aware they even put blinkers on cars now! Most don't use them anyway! How can they? One hand on the wheel and the other with a phone on it.

Just so you all will know....I do carry a cell phone. It takes rather nice pictures, and records comments from witnesses, i.e., the pickup drivers. I might be old, but I didn't get here being stupid(at least most of the time  Grin) Once she realized she was in a losing situation, she decided it was time to vacate....and she did ask if I was OK. The demeanor changed drastically after the guys in the trucks suggested the source of her brown eyes wasn't genetic.  Wink

Both my cars have inexpensive dashcams.  I'll probably get a two-camera system for the Valkyrie as well.  In the past I've witnessed minor accidents and given the innocent party my contact information, making sure the offender saw/heard me do it.

On Sunday, Wife and I were returning to town driving our SUV.  I had picked up a State LEO several miles back on my tail. No I wasn't speeding or doing anything wrong for a change.  He was just heading the direction I was going.  As we were moving along a city street, on the inside lane, a individual on a street to our right decided he had to turn and get in front of me.  I didn't see him stop nor signal, though he could have.  Anyway he pulls in front of me and nearly stops.  Had to hit the binders.  He then takes off.   The LEO moves to the inside lane, thought he just got tired of following me going less than the 45 MPH speed limit.  He goes around me and slips in to my safe zone and puts his lights on.   Not sure what the ticket will be but every so often idiots gets one.  police police

Improper unsafe lane usage more than likely.

Just remembered this one.  A woman in a Suburban was backing out of a parking spot from a resturant . In front of me was a girl in a small car. She layed on the horn and the woman in the Suburban got nervous.  She did continue to back out  , all the time the horn was blasting. What the girl did not see , on the other side was a state trooper. Once the suburban moved , the trooper pointed to the girl and signaled her to the side of the road. He put his lights on as he signaled. I gave him the thumbs up as I drove by. He smiled and waved. Poetic Justice.

As Gryphon Rider posted earlier, I have dash cameras in my cars, both front and rear windows.

Having video of an incident could possibly save you from losing everything you've worked for in a lawsuit!
There's millions of scenarios where you could be blamed for something, even causing someone's death, if it comes down to your word against another's.
