http://www.foxnews.com/us/2018/05/17/boulder-passes-sweeping-anti-gun-bill-pro-2a-nonprofit-vows-to-sue-individual-councilmembers.html"The Boulder City Council unanimously passed a sweeping gun control ordinance Tuesday night banning "assault weapons" and bump stocks, even as a pro-Second Amendment group threatened to retaliate by suing individual councilmembers. " "the city defines assault weapons as "semi-automatic firearms designed with military features to allow rapid spray firing for the quick and efficient killing of humans." Included in the definition are "all semiautomatic action rifles with a detachable magazine with a capacity of twenty-one or more rounds," as well as "semiautomatic shotguns with a folding stock or a magazine capacity of more than six rounds or both."

A Ruger 1022 with a BX25 magazine would qualify under this stupid law. When are these morons going to learn.

When they successfully ban them all.

They are not morons. They know exactly what they are doing. They are depending on the fact that their constituency are morons and will stand by and do nothing.

Yup, I had the same thought. Chip away little by little, before long the 2A will be nothing but a pile of rubble.

I was planning a stop there in a few weeks, looks like I need to re-route for an evening stop. Of course, nothing is really set in stone when I travel on the Big Girl (other than pick the wife up at the Denver airport when she arrives).

"the city defines assault weapons as "semi-automatic firearms designed with military features to allow rapid spray firing for the quick and efficient killing of humans."
That legal definition of a term sounds like it was written by a 7 year old, and should be quite easy to have struck down by a semi-competent attorney. Evidently the city of Boulder has a problem of too much money in the coffers and wishes to waste some of it by forcing unnecessary legal expenses on themselves.

Boulder is like a dingleberry in Colorado's butt crack, just hanging there and smelling up the place. Heck, I live in Colorado and won't go there. It's like a little California, lots of fruits and nuts.

Boulder is a hopeless, lost cause. A pariah town. I wouldn't think it matters much, except it's also a college town - full of academia, lefty professors and their spawn - the U of C is there and they are polluting the minds of our young. I haven't been there in decades.

It and poke around in general. I've a little brother in Vail and a daughter in Denver that I was going to annoy with my presence. I was there in May last year (by way of the Badlands) and just didn't have enough time to explore many of the back roads. I will only be in CO a few days but I am going to try to make most of the time in the mountains getting lost. I have not been to St Mary's in quite a while so that is on the list. I doubt I will get everything in but I will have fun trying. Next year I want to go back to Zion. Maybe I can make a left before I get there and fill in OK.

It's more an isolated island than a part of the state around it.

West out of Vail and through Edwards to CO-131 @Wolcott, north and head towards Steamboat Springs on the west side of the Gore Range. Pass through State Bridge and over the Colorado River, up through Bond, McCoy, Toponas, Yampa, Phippsburg, Oak Creek, and into Steamboat Springs from the south. Ranching land from the southern places to where they brought out coal in the small towns up north and shipped it from Phippsburg. The Yampa River Valley is much quieter being so far from the I-70 corridor that it has been a favorite or ours since we lived there back in the late 80's. Return south on US-40 over Rabbit Ears and Muddy Passes to CO-9 @ Kremling and follow the Blue River to Frisco I-70 and back to Vail. A fantastic day long ride that you can start at early daylight (critters) and be back by twilight (critters)...or a relaxing overnight in downtown at the Olde Town Pub (bar food and music)or hit Cugino's a block over from Lincoln Ave on 8th for stromboli, pizza, and italian dishes (they serve really slow, so don't be in a hurry). A good journey if you have not been up there; safe travels.

I went to college in Boulder as an active duty Marine. Never felt more out of place in my life- even in Iraq, Afghanistan, or Okinawa.

Boulder is to Colorado as Austin is to Texas... When we secede, I think we'll wall off Austin and cede it to California, where it belongs.
