I remember when I first started coming around here 12 years ago... it seemed like
there were a lot of ride reports, or maybe its just that Smokin' Joe made a ride
report every weekend and signed them all "Bring it, Let's Ride!"...

Those reports clued me into who was nearby and who I needed to seek out to
ride with... the Georgia guys, the Tennessee guys, there were numerous South
Carolina guys that rode a lot then...

Next thing you know I'm sitting on Big Al's Harley...

Riding to Gettysburg in my underwear...

Showing everyone my favorite roads...

Ride reports helped make the VRCC way more than just an Internet thang for me.

Sitting back and picking out a few pictures to post after I get home is like a
continuation of the ride, and seems like a way to contribute to the VRCC...
I sure have gotten a lot out of this place over the years  cooldude

I think some may not because they are not comfortable with the written word and think they can't "impress".

If so, then multiple photos work just as well.

I also think some don't have the time.

I don't get to ride anywhere interesting enough often enough, but on the rare occasion that I do I've been known to post a report and/or pic or two...

Very well put Mike ....my sentiments exactly.  I like to show others a little bit about where I ride , but even more so I enjoy seeing where others ride . I was a member here  for many years , only perusing the Tech and Classified forums until I discovered posts on this forum  showing ride reports and groups of members getting together  in places I've always wanted to visit . This led directly to  attending my first of 3 consecutive Inzane's starting in 2015 and having the chance to meet many of those members  in person, which in turn got me involved on a somewhat regular basis on this General forum.  A good example was when I started checking out some of the regional boards where almost all discussion is related to riding. In particular, the Florida board were I posted up a request last year for things to do while on an extended work trip I had to Tampa. What transpired was a bike rental and a fantastic day of riding, visiting cool MC hangouts, and comraderie with a bunch of new friends I was foruntae to meet and get to know a bit cooldude

I  can discuss any topic of the day with anyone on so many other platforms (I actually love debating politics, but much more so in person)....this is the only place I can find folks who share and understand the the same devotion to a 20+ year motorcycle as I do. Of course this forum would never be sustained with just ride reports and such, but certainly more  related topics and more members feeling like they wanted to participate in discussions would make it more interesting for sure.

Whatever it is, it's better in the wind.

Mike, it was one of the things that made me yearning to log in on Monday mornings is to see where you, Joe and a few other had gone, giving me ideas of where I wanted to travel, I enjoyed the pictures and the adventures shared, the same way that DDT shares his experiences from the road, we ride with you.
I have tried many times to post ride reports and usually when I get one finished I have a problem loading it or the pictures, I am not a tech savy person.  Cheesy
Keep posting my friend, we do appreciate the effort, even if the board does not reflect it very often.
