Day one.
Jane and I left the house with dark skies and light rain at 7:45am ET headed for Willow Brook Ill. and the start of our great adventure. We meet up with Gary and Cathy in Chillicothe Ohio, had breakfeast, and rode past Indianapolis for lunch, then arriving in Willow Brook at 4:00 pm CT. With a total of 465 miles.
When we arrived we were greeted by a few other day early couples, including the VRCC'S own Robin and Judy.
Having dark skies and light to medium rain all the way we took no pictures  We did see corn fields, wind mills, corn fields, wind mills an a couple more corn fields and wind mills.
    To be continued.

You may have seen one or two windmills and cornfields between Indy and Chicago-land if traveling I-65. That stretch is as bad as I-80 through Nebraska. Sad

True except they drive even faster on I65.
I avoid super slabs at all cost. Last resort.

We rode the super slab to just get it over with because of all day rain.

Don't blame you,, If i get in rain all day I just stay put and enjoy the company of my good looking wife of 40 years.  cooldude

Unless I am by myself, then I just keep riding.

Day 2 Stayed around the motel welcoming other riders as they came in.
Day 3 Left motel at 6am made stops at Joliet route 66 museum, Gemini giant statue, Polk a dog drive inn, Pontiac route 66 museum, Memory Lane,
Lunch at Kelly's,  giant hit dog man statue. Arrived motel in Springfield Mo.
4 pm. 187 miles for the day.
I too a few pictures with my tablet, but they are too big to load into photostash. A problem I don't think I can fix with a tablet.
