A co-workers wife sent him a pic of the snake yesterday.

It was a pretty good sized Rattlesnake.

I got a parking ticket in Wooster OH on my way to Inzane, does that count?   BTW Wooster will never see another dime of my money.  I used to stop there for fuel and Food every trip through the area.  I guess I need to find a new BBQ joint.  I hope the Wooster PD makes good use of the $20.  I wonder if it had anything to do with my STEELER logos???

I have eaten them for lunch/dinner while fighting wild fires in my youth.  Not bad just roasted over a fire.   angel angel

You were parking somewhere not clearly prohibited and they gave you a ticket?

I pulled into the public lot outside Omaha Bob's BBQ.  All the spaces were full and at the end of the row was a lined off area.  I pulled in there and started removing my gear to go eat.  While in the process, a couple returned to the last car (which I was parked next to) and left.  I thought about moving the bike into the spot, but thought I would leave it for a cage as the bike fit nicely where it was and I never saw a sign saying "park in designated spots only".  Apparently, my being considerate of cage drivers resulted in me violating City Ordinance 351.18:Downtown Parking District (b) that states "...No person shall park a vehicle in such a way that the vehicle is not entirely within the limits of the space so designated."  I was there 20 mins.  That's what you get for trying to be considerate.   The bike in no way interfered with other vehicles ability to park, access to handicap ramps or things of that nature.  I think the cop was a Browns fan.

Yep, probably a browns fan. Can you imagine. This reminds me of the Seinfeld episode wher George gets fired for having sex with the cleaning lady. He asked his boss, was that wrong of me? Nobody told always thought those areas with yellow lines running through them meant they were reserved for me. Grin Grin

They were white lines, not yellow.

The law seems reasonable, but its strict enforcement when the violation of it causes harm to no one, is excessive.  This would be an appropriate situation to write a warning.  Everyone except cookiedough would be okay with that.

Jury is still out that first red light out of ground zero at the Exxon may have busted me with the camera. I waited forever and it never would let me go ( might have got me more than once ) I'm sure I'm not the only one. Please post if you get a ticket in the mail.

That intersection was interesting.  There were several cameras covering it from every direction.    I watched several Valkyrie riders turn right on red, a definate no go.  It was clearly posted.

I won't guarantee there wasn't one, but I never saw a red light camera there, and my phone is set up to warn me about them when I'm approaching one of those revenue collection devices, it never alerted me at that location.

According to this supposedly comprehensive list of red light cameras in Virginia, there are none in Roanoke at all:

I won't suggest they were actually in operation but, there were cameras mounted on the cross pieces of the lights.   They were the reasons I waited on the lights.

If you're talking about this camera, I'm about 99% sure that's an optical sensor used to tell the light changing system there's a vehicle in the lane so it knows to cycle the lights, not a revenue generation camera, those are generally bigger, on the side, and have flashes on or next to them, etc.:

correct, those are optical sensors and can also pick up license plates
never saw a ticket machine in that set up

There are 3 parts to red light camera usually on same pole
Flash Unit  (you can usually see them go off same with speed camera)
Radar or Optical sensor
Camera   with Cell send capability

You're ok.
Roanoke doesn't have any cameras that are there to generate tickets.

The cameras are for changing the light and they double as regular traffic cameras.
