I have the other half (harness) connected to the battery for battery tender.
My main concern is frying my ancient garmin 650. I know basically nothing about volts, amps, or watts so please inform if anything else is needed. If it’s not real close to “plug and play “, I probably won’t attempt hooking up.   Thanks for any advice, Shape.
Opps, meant to post in tech board. Oh well, I’ll see how this go’s.

if the garmin has a standard cigarette lighter plug, it will be fine.

Yep, that should do it.

That being said, I personally don't like the Garmin cigarette adapter charger because it is bulky for a motorcycle application.

An alternative is to have a USB charger plugged in the cigarette adapter (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B071KVD7Q1/ or https://www.amazon.com/LIHAN-Charger-Display-Voltage-Current/dp/B01JA627KU) and a proper Garmin USB cable (a regular USB cable won't charge the GPS, but put it in data transfer mode) like: https://www.amazon.com/Charger-Compact-Adapter-2597lmt-3790lmt/dp/B00NE5H69Q

The advantage is that you still got an extra USB that can be used to charge your cellphone/gopro/bluetooth headset. Plus, when you got no devices plugged, the USB charger displays the current voltage in your bike.

Or this completely water proof with cap on already has outlets can be mounted under the seat and there are different styles to fit tighter places but you get the idea. This way no adapter to fall out is needed.

If you have a male "lighter socket type" auto cord for your GPS then yes, that amazon socket will plug into your Garmin-type polarized connector and you're all set. If your GPS also has a USB cord for charging, then you have your choice. One thing to remember is most GPS units run on 5volts DC, so the "car socket charger" power cords will have a 12>5v voltage reducer built into the cord. It's usually in the actual plug, but some early ones were in the cord, like a snake swallowed a tennis ball. Some folks run into trouble because they decide to cut off the bulky lighter-type plug and hardwire directly to the bike. POP! They've cut off the voltage reducer and wired a 5v device to a 12v bike  Cry

I'm using this myself to power a car GPS. You may need to use some Duct tape to keep them together. I have put mine in a handlebar bag so it is out of the weather.
