The motel has been sold the new owner is American I've talked to the new hired help and gave my phone # for him to call me. Was told everything will be the same they will have firewood for us and things will remain the same ( we'll see ) . Miss Reba is in a nursing home and not doing well according to the lady at the motel. I'll take a ride up soon and spend the night and check it out. This could be the last " Fall Color Ride " in Robbinsville or maybe not.. If so I've found a nice place to take its place.

A change of venue might not be a bad thing if different roads are to be ridden.

Sad about Miss Reba but she's a tough old bird and has been fighting hard for a long time  angel

Joe, thanks for the update.  Glad to hear the FCR is still on for this year.  Hope the hotel does stay MC friendly.

Ditto (to both sentiments!)
We haven't had much luck catchin' a spot at Miss Reba's over the years, only stayed there once. Been at the Econo Lodge down the street, but since it changed to Quality Inn the rate's $271 for the weekend. That's within $26 of a beautiful B&B jus' up the street so this year we've decided to splurge.  Hope the color's this good...& hope to hang with some of our friends!
God Bless Miss Reba angel

Ok.  I thought you went by in person. Reb and I are taking off Saturday morning for " somewhere " if he's good with it I'll try swing by and scope the place out and hopefully talk with the new owner.

When is the Fall Color Ride?

3rd weekend in October

I'll be up the road a bit at Moonshine Camp Ground with my other Honda group.  Sad Maybe I'll come over and meet some new riders. Do you guys do group rides or ride smaller groups? Generally, how long are the rides?

Usually "several" (two or three) groups head off somewhere, leaving the gas station
at McDonalds around 9:00, sometimes a little bit later. Some rides take longer than
others, I've led a couple and I get lost a lot  Roll Eyes ... Groups generally start rolling
back into the motel between about 3:00 and 6:00 or so...

Reb and I are taking off Saturday morning for " somewhere " if he's good with it I'll try swing by and scope the place out and hopefully talk with the new owner.
Was gonna try & join ya but unfortunately "honey do's" are gonna take precedent Cry
(Crank-N-Bank a few for me would ya!)

On another note... the "ride at night" thread reminded me...
everyone that attends FCR needs to be aware the "young punks" have taken to racing the mountain in the dark. Yep, you read that right, they are racing The Dragon in the dark! Seems there's little to no police presence (although I'm sure that's gonna change) & you can see headlights comin' atcha further out than you can see actual vehicles.
Now I won't pretend I haven't cracked off a hot lap (or 12) in the dark over there when I was young, dumb, & immortal... but back in those days we still jus' called it "the hill" & there was no internet, cell phones Shocked or traffic! The place was a ghost town way back then, 7734 the speed limit was 55 Grin
Thought anyone plannin' to attend might need to know cause there's usually a few that make a night pass.  ymmv ☮

No cover cause it will be the HD that gets stolen not a lowly Honda  Cheesy

Duffy's bike is one of the best looking Harleys I've seen.

Raymond-I thought the "Black Pearl's Captain" sounded familiar. I'm not making it this year. I injured my elbow. Enjoy your ride!
