Read about them in Rider magazine a while back.  They cashed in their chips and dedicated a time span (10 years I think) to ride around the world.  He was familiar with Moto Guzzi.  The top has solar panels that power a refrigerator hung on the back.  Had a crash somewhere and laid up in the hospital for what, a month, then back at it.  great article.  If I run across it again, I will scan an post.

Was on my Valk about 10 yrs ago with 2 other guys at 4 corners (New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado, Utah) and in pulls an older Harley that was loaded down like that with stuff just hanging everywhere.    The rig was very dirty and the 40 yr old guy driving looked very weathered also....really rough looking.    I couldn't resist and walked over and introduced myself and asked him what was up.    He said he was a banker with a family and a home and went thru a really bad divorce.    Wife got the kids, the house and half the assets.    He cashed in and bought this old Harley and hit the road    Been traveling for 6 months.   Said he was gonna keep going till the money ran out and right there he would start a new life.   I thought about that guy the rest of the trip.   That took some cahonies to do what he was doing.   I love to take long touring motorcycle trips but after about 10 days or so I start thinking about home and all I have to do when I get there......maybe if I didn't have a home to go back too it would be different.
