I knew Tom Cruise did some of his own stunts but did not know that he is an accomplished skydiver

Tom didn't look all that accomplished on that dive. He was obviously struggling.  Probably out of practice.  It takes lots of jumps to master the finer points.

I had over 1,000 jumps and something like 3 hrs of free fall time and qualifieng for AFF jumpmaster was tough.  I never would have passed with a jump like Tom turned in there.

Spousal unit got her 55th jump today.

While cliche'd, the video does beautifully capture the terror, joy, excitement, awesomeness of someone's first jump!

Good for her. Hope she keeps it up. Learning to fly seconds at a time is slow work  Cheesy

Yup, especially after shattering her wrist and requiring surgery on jump #52 ~6 months ago, but she's back at it and loving it...

We found the one dropzone in the nation that will take jumpers under 18 and my 15 year old got 2 jumps on our way home from Inzane... the insanity is hereditary it seems...

I was telling some co-workers this morning that I was stuck with the triplets since mommy dropped the 15 year old off at motorcycle rider class this morning on her way to the drop zone to skydive...

I stopped myself and had to add "I wish my life was half as exciting as that made it sound like it is."

Sinkhead's son is a movie stunt man, he comes to the Fall Color Ride sometimes.

He's worked with Tom Cruise, and sez that Tom is a first class stunt man.

You can hear Sinkhead's son in this short video - us old guys can show even
a stunt man a good time at the Fall Color Ride  cooldude

That was a good time Mike!
You're correct, Eric worked with Mr. Cruise on a couple of movies, and he does a lot of his own stunts, he is in very good shape foe his age, and Eric said he can drive with the best of them.  He did most of his own driving in the Jack  Reicher movies, most of the fight scenes as well.

Seems I saw Tom wailing on a current F1 car at competitive  speeds some years back..then .... hopping into and piloting a very expensive helicoptor..if my memory is correct
