I'll try to get pics later, but I might have overdone it... When I called HartCo and ordered the custom seat I really played up I wanted to be lifted up a LOT...

He... did not disappoint.

I can BARELY, if I stretch my legs, flatfoot the bike now.

This.... is gonna take some getting used to. It's very comfortable while in motion though! (Although now I need about a 3 foot tall windshield...)

Why didn't anyone tell me about these Mick-O pegs before?!?!?!

(Kidding, I've heard them mentioned many times, never thought they could be THAT good... They are!)

Got 'em, got 'em installed and took a quick ride around the neighborhood (Barefoot no less, I was in such a hurry to try 'em out) and oh my, where have those been all my riding life?!?!?!

Ya know, I distinctly remember discussing MOPs with you in Roanoke.  As I remember, I even tried to get you to swing a leg over my saddle and try them out but you declined.    Glad you found the right combination for your comfort and riding.     Maybe next time you listen to your shorter brothers.......   2funny

Yeah, OSS offered too... I just really never believed they could be that good... That, and the whole "Never rub another man's rhubarb" rule of life I try to live by... Wink

Got a few hundred miles in on the new setup today. The seat's gonna work. It's a little missized, it won't latch into place (I think he built it based on a standard sized tank, not for an Interstate) but it's in there so snugly I'm not that worried about it.

Definitely need a bigger shield now though, the existing shield (Stock?) barely goes to my neck.

I CAN flatfoot it, but just barely... but it's very comfortable!

Will it stay put under emergency braking, or will it slide up on the tank (with you on it)? That tank bib pouch may help a slide.  What about a bad pothole or RR track bounce?  It really should latch.

It sure looks like a good fit for you.

After a few hundred mile ride the other day, the setup was MOSTLY okay, except towards the end, I stood up on the pegs to stretch my legs, and in doing so pushed on the backrest, popping the seat up and out.

Not a fun situation.

So the next chance I had, I went to the garage with a Dremel and decided to either fix the seat or destroy it, whichever came first.

I'm happy to say I fixed it. It seems the Hartco is made mainly for a standard, the taller tank of an Interstate caused it issues. I Dremel'ed away some fiberglass from the nose of the seat, and it now latches into place. I've sent my info to Hartco so he can update anyone else that might have this issue. I'm pointing to the area I removed material in the pic, just for posterity:

Also, I've got a taller windshield now, with a vent, and am loving it!

Now that I've got the Interstate set up juuuuuuuuust right, I need to remember to take my Standard out for a spin soon, lest she get jealous and lonely!
