I was going to write some words but the f'in photo upload took so long.

Train crossing. Idiot in open blue jeep with his kids on board crossed the track about 15 seconds before the train. Lights were flashing.

Sorry we missed you, me and a couple of valkrie riding friends rode the Cherohala on Sat. also.  We camped at the Kick Stand Lodge over on 28 just outside of Robbinsville.  What a great camp ground, I've never been to one that was as clean and they supply everything you would need, cabins, bath house with towels and wash cloths, soap etc.
Anyhow we rode the Dragon about 10 Sat. morning , we were at Bald River Falls about 12 something and hung out at Filling station there in town for about 45 minute and then rode the Cherohala back to Robbinsville.  We must have passed a thousand motorcylces never saw  another valk all day ,other  then the ones we were riding.

I was hoping we might run into one of you guys that ride that area often, I haven't seen much of the old riding crew lately, I guess next time we should let someone know we'll going to be in the area.. Smiley

I saw 1 Valk at the Exxon in Tellico Plains.  Orange/Black.

I rode the Skyway half way Saturday evening.

Sunday morning I rode to the Joyce Kilmer turn and didn't see one vehicle heading towards Tellico Pains.

The decision to ride back west with the sun at my back was an easy one to make. Zip, zap, zoom.

By the time I got back to TP there were quite a few bikes headed to the Skyway.

My wife and I took that ride Saturday also. We started out going through Top of the World Tn and Happy Valley. Then over the Dragon to Topico Lodge for a short break and sat on the patio. We rode the Skyway back home. It was a picture perfect day.

Paul,

Nice report! Your narrative was... mmm... 'concise', shall we say. Puts me in mind of a micro-mini skirt: Just long enough to cover the subject, but short enough to keep things very interesting. Hard to go wrong with a ride in that area, and you do a good job of capturing the essence of the experience! Thanks for sharing... and for taking us along!   cooldude

P.S. As is often the case, your report has triggered the sharing of memories from others, as well as stories from others of us who visited that area that weekend, too. Looks like several 'near misses' on running into each other... but...   Undecided

I think this is the opposite end from Britman’s pic. I thoroughly enjoyed that road  cooldude

(I should have removed the gloves, beef jerky, bag, etc. before taking the pic)  Embarrassed

Certainly looks good

I try to travel those types of roads as much as I can.....but they are a little slippery this time of year with the sheltered areas covered in dirt & a green moss off the main wheel tracks Smiley
