After lunch today about 1 hour afterwards at work, I got a pretty sharp middle sternum (above my gutt in the middle) lower chest pain that accompanied severe sweating all over. The severity went away after near 1 hour of sitting down not moving but was enough to make me almost cry before able to stand and do minimal work.
Pretty sure it is not a heart attack (heart issue) since too low, but been researching Gallbladder and the likes like gallstones and other related Gallbladder area pains.
They say (on internet) if it does not go away in 5-6 hours (which it did finally a few hours ago mostly completely) then go see a Dr. I finally ate supper at 9 p.m. now so will see if food irritates those lower chest (upper stomach-sternum area) again overnight.
If so, guess better go see the DR. for bloodwork and possible chest xray, etc.
Anyone ever have this before, ideas???

Gall bladder can mimic a heart attack. I would make a Dr appointment anyway. Be sure of what's going on, don't guess!

If it comes back tonight or tomorrow or Friday or over the weekend, I will go see a Dr.... It was pretty severe mimicking a heart attack but much lower in the middle of the sternum (high gutt area). I thought it was just gas pains but usually that is lower stomach not on top of the stomach area. The sweating all over my body (I was literally dripping sweat off my forehead not doing anything) was very weird. I drove the Valkyrie into work so could not leave anytime soon to go see a Dr. anyways was unable to do much that 1-2 hours afterwards had to wait it out to even do much like walking or bending over, etc...

Heart problems can show up in some seemingly strange locations.
20/20 hindsight leaves me shaking my head how I could have missed the signs my body was showing me. Back pain that felt more like a pinched nerve, sending pain down my arm. Moved around a little and it got better. Chest pain that seemed more like gas pains. Nothing that couldn't be explained away. I never had any major events strike me down. Not even of the kind you describe.
Fortunately, I had a cardiologist who knew when to keep digging.
May 17, 2018 I joined the chest zipper club. Double bypass.
And I never had any of the typical signs, dizziness, high b/p, high cholesterol.
I don't know why I deserved a 2nd chance. I just got extremely lucky.
Do you feel lucky.
Well, do you.

A simple blood test or ekg will tell if its heart related, or maybe an infection but at least you will have something to go by. The problem is you dont know what it is and dont know how to self diagnose. Once you have a confirmed diagnosis you will know the signs and act accordingly.
It could be a stomach problem but drink some water with a touch of baking soda in it does it change at all. If not then no matter what it is you better check it out. Also if its heart related taking a couple of aspirins should help a bit to thin the blood and help the pain go away. If you start to move are you winded easily or weak, if so that would go to heart. Is there any pain in your left arm? What is your heart rate?
Well hopefully today you will still be around to read this, I will pray.

Esophageal spasms will also give much the same indications, often mistaken for a heart attach since it "feels" like it's in the right place. I get it once in a while, believe me....it's scary. Six years ago right now I was in the hosp. for five weeks with a major attack and wasn't expected to live, my wife had been told to get the family together. Now when I get one of those spasms it really gets my attention, first thing I reach for is a glass of ice water which seems to help. I will sometimes get a little ill after it hits and feel a bit sweaty. Blood tests have confirmed it's not another attack...but still scares the crap out of you. The cause of the spasms? I have no idea...maybe my own cooking?!

I suffer from chronic heartburn, which can sometimes create chest discomfort that is concerning.
If I were ever to experience any of the associated syptoms that you described (i.e. profuse sweating and weakness) I would take my sorry a$$ to the ER.

Plus a BUNCH. Acid reflux I believe what it are called. I also have it. BUT when I had my heart attack scare the gal that had me on the treadmill waiting to push the dye into me-she Is a Dr.-informed like already stated-acid reflux mimics a heart attack. BUT you need testa to determine WHAT you have. Git yer ass to your Doctor or an E R while you Still have an ass! Quit screwin around and Quit guessin-GO-NOW. Be SURE before you DIE damnit! That sounds almost exactly like what happened to me 25 yrs ago (late 30s, early 40s), except both times it happened I just went to bed for the night.
Horrendous pain in my chest for about 2-3 minutes the first time. It went away on its own so I didn’t worry about it anymore.
BUT about a week or two later, SAME THING, but it didn’t go away. Sweating profusely, nothing I did eased the pain. After about 30-45 minutes I went to the emergency room. (it’s amazing how fast you get in when you say you have “chest pain”!) However as soon as I laid down on the gurney the pain went away as fast as it came on. They did a “EKG” and right away determined I have no heart condition. Good news but where was the pain coming from?
The next couple of weeks I set up a “gall bladder sonogram” and “upper GI”. (Suggestions from the ER tech) All turned out ok, but when I was in the middle of the upper GI, as the tech was watching the monitor he asked if I am troubled with indigestion, which I do have. Something he noticed as the barium traveled through my system.
Eventually it was determined that I had a severe case of Acid Reflux.
So, from that point on I watch what and when I eat and always have Tums or Alka Seltzer handy!
Hopefully what you experienced was nothing more than this seeing as it happened soon after eating, but I’d suggest strongly, like others here, go see your Doctor.

The question begs a reply in the form of this question:
Why the hell would you ask a bunch of cycle jockeys to diagnose chest pain? Get your ass to an emergency room pronto and forget about what grandma's home remedy is for dying!
Don't be stupid enough to believe that anyone in the VRCC (doesn't mean Valkyrie Riders Cardiac Care) knows crap about why you are doubled over in pain.

do you have a link to the 'dump' factor? I was fortunate to have a coworker clue me in. I took notice and track of everything I ate in the beginning. they had me eat fat free for the 1st month, I guess to keep it to a minimum. Seldom occurs now and I eat everything. https://www.medhelp.org/posts/Gastroenterology/dumping-syndrome-after-gall-bladder-removal/show/549153

Gall bladder can mimic a heart attack. I would make a Dr appointment anyway. Be sure of what's going on, don't guess!
Heart attack can mimic gallbladder or indigestion. Epigastric pain (the area you describe) is often dismissed by someone having a heart attack... at their peril, especially with the other symptoms you describe. Get yourself checked out as soon as possible. DO NOT wait to see if it happens again. You got a warning this time; you may not the next time. P.S. Ditto what Serk said.

I don't usually comment on medical stuff because I am not a Dr, therefor have no expertise.....I did spend 42 years in medicine, doing about everything you can do in radiology. A perfect EKG today means nothing when you die a few days later with a heart attack. A cool gallbladder today can still cause problems a few days later. Anything can change, anything can hide, missed diagnoses happen every day, etc,etc ,etc. I am worlds worst at going to see a Dr. All I know is, I'm 70 in a little over 2 months. I have been very fortunate with health. I need to see the Dr now and have a couple things checked, probably will put them off again for a while. Families want their loved ones to be well and they worry a lot. Do what you need to do and just get it over with. Now if I will take my own advice, my family will be happy.

Cookiedough, I give you permission to make a "rolling" stop at the stop sign nearest to your house IF you are on your way to the doctor/ER to get your chest pain investigated. If you get ticketed this afternoon on your way from your house/work to the ER, I'll reimburse you for the fine.

This is where you listen to people who care. Defend and go out with the skanky chick that everyone knows about. Defend that's its only one more drink. Defend that when you were 20 you could work in the heat all day. Defend that Steve McQueen made that jump, and you can too. Don't defend putting this off.

I had severe pain ....couldn't walk to the bathroom without pain even. I laid in bed for 2 days until my wife came home from a church trip on Sunday night. She immediately called my family doctor and he said to get me to the ER immediately. I got out of our van and walked into the ER normally without any pain whatsoever. EKG, blood gas test, etc showed nothing out of the ordinary. Kept me overnight and did a cath next morning.....triple bypass in 2 hours. You can't trust the heart....it does strange things.
