I loved that, surprised you posted it, reflects situations today. Who are you the teacher or the rest?

We have enough idiots in the world without someone making a video about idiots.

Damn... that is hilarious, man! You sounded just like little Danny in the video: " _ That is stupid!" Ok, ok... 2 + 2 = 22 And there is no truth.

Back in my day, we kids did what the teachers told us to do. And if we performed bad, our parents would always side with the teachers.

I still remember my dad (the Phi Beta Kappa civil engineer and math genius) trying to help me with the (then) new SMSG math. His opinion was..... this is stupid!!!!! He was thinking about going in to the school to tell them how stupid it was, but I begged him not to ( Dad, I have to go in there every day). The only C I got in undergrad was a high school refresher course of Algebra and Trig. Math that has no daily application in normal daily life (of a non engineer) is nothing I need to know. What's the sine curve of the cosine and tangent? Who gives a sh!t? was not a passing answer.

Jess, of my four girls, two had the miserable teachings of the so-called "new math" and two what I referred to as the "old method" which I learned under. The two with the new math had trouble their entire lives....the rest of HS, through college, work following college. The two taught under the old method did marvelous...as did their kids. The new math made no sense to me whatsoever, I found it confusing and difficult to help the girls get through it.

Yeah John, math is one of the true hard sciences.
It can't be bent or changed or improved on.
The old math was the true math, and the new math was just some guy(s) selling a lot of new books.
My dad could solve almost any problem with his old but fancy engineer's slide rule. It was his pre-comuter computer. I never could figure that thing out, but it was like magic in his hands.

It goes along with my post. $2.87. Our dad was a mathematical wizard. When calculators came into every day use , he would race them and win.
