Saw it myself (referenced from The Drudge Report). Did not watch the hour long video but did read the time stamped excerpts.
No surprise. The problem is they are biased and in control and we can use it, ignore it, or just remember its biased and spread he word.

I've listened to the first 12 minutes or so.
Do they really have such a bunch of nervous ninnies working for them that they have to be coddled?

Google's gutless executives were a no-show at the recent Senate Hearings, with an empty chair sporting google's name on the back. That tells me that they think they are above it all and in control, and that may very well be true...right up until it is not!! Time will tell.

I watched a good chunk of that video.

They speak of internet freedom UNTIL they have to exhibit it.
Sergey Mikhaylovich Brin (Russian: Серге́й Миха́йлович Брин; born August 21, 1973) is an American computer scientist and internet entrepreneur. Together with Larry Page, he co-founded Google. Brin is the President of Google's parent company Alphabet Inc.
WHY DID GOOGLE VISIT N KOREA? WHY WOULD THE FORMER CHAIRMAN & CEO [HIMSELF] OF GOOG/ALPHABET PERSONALLY ATTEND? Who is Sergey Brin? Where was Sergey born? Track the 'FAMILY' - IMPORTANT. Think COLD WAR. Think KGB.
Sergey Brin - GOOG [Founder][BORN IN MOSCOW] was married to… Anne Wojcicki - 23andme [Founder] was brother-in-law to… Susan Wojcicki - CEO of YouTube [DARPA]
FACEBOOK data dump? Who made it public? Who sold shares -30 days from announcement? You can't imagine the magnitude of this. Constitutional CRISIS. Twitter coming soon. GOOG coming soon. AMAZON coming soon. MICROSOFT coming soon. +12 Current censorship all relates to push for power [mid-terms].
Google invested US$3,900,000 in the company, 23andme, along with Genentech, New Enterprise Associates, and Mohr Davidow Ventures. Wojcicki was married to Google co-founder Sergey Brin at the time.

Yes, and they have been trained to be nervous ninnies when needed. Google did not want regime change, they had a sure thing with the status quo. Billions to store govt. data, access to every Google search on the planet, ability to dump news as needed to "guide" elections. Who would want to change any part of that? Hillary promised more of the same. Pay for play.

My 2 cents as I've being living in the Silicon Valley (SV) for the last 5 years... Yep, majority of people in the Valley are liberal and a significant percentage of workers and company founders are immigrants (IIRC around 43% of the companies here were founded by immigrants or sons of immigrants). That includes giants like Google and others. So no big surprise that a guy who got elected by calling Mexicans rapists and promising to get ridden of Muslims was not celebrated. It is also relevant to remember that lots of programmers are either nerds, dorks or simply gay (sometimes all the three)... so they may not react in the same way as you and me would react to external events. Seriously, some of the best programmers I've met have some serious cognitive issues (I guess this is why they prefer to interact with computers than people). That being said, Google/Twitter/FB/Apple and others won't compromise their business for the sake of politics. Remember, money *always* comes first in the Valley. As the current administration is always looking for a 'new enemy of the people', targeting the tech companies (as the ongoing war against the Press is running out of steam) is just the natural step. That being said, the odds of this being another shot in the foot are significant. One advantage of Software Engineering is that you can always move to any country if you got the skills (unlike other professions i.e. law or medicine). What makes the Valley the envy of the World (Europe and Asia included) is a combination of: a) Great talent in-site (doesn't mean 'local' people, but people that just happen to be here from all over the places). b) Presence of investors. c) Presence of good universities. d) Lovely weather and landscapes. Given the growing costs of doing business in the SV plus changes in the immigration policies for the worst (and I'm talking about *legal* immigration here, this subject alone deserves a new thread), other places are starting to pop up as alternatives to the Valley (e.g. Vancouver/CA and Cambridge/UK comes to my mind). China is also busy investing heavily and actively trying to recruit good foreign engineers. They have the interest of becoming independent from USA in both software and microchips and are growing what they call 'The Silicon Delta'. Check: https://www.business.hsbc.com/china-growth/why-chinas-silicon-delta-will-lead-the-digital-revolutionThe recent attempt of a hostile takeover of Qualcomm (based in San Diego) by Avago (based in Taiwan) is a good sign that they are serious (this is one thing that the Trump administration did right by blocking the acquisition). It just so happens that the best engineers generally prefer to live in California, but that can easily change. By persecuting the SV companies, politicians may actually kill the golden goose that is the envy of the world (while helping to establish competing technology hubs in other nations).

Don't really see what all of this has to do with the blatant targeting and elimination of conservative speech from their platforms. Basically, it's a defacto monopoly on speech. I know they are a private enterprise, but they control the routes of speech on the Internet. There is no longer a free exchange of ideas when one group controls all speech. What would happen if Fox News (as an example of a conservative leaning corporation) somehow was able to buy up a majority of the server capacity and satellite transponder capacity and shut out all other news outlets? In essence, that is what Google, Facebook, etc are doing. They are driven by a very left leaning ideology with the intention of eliminating channels that conservatives use for communication. I mean, Twitter lets death threats against politicians families stand, but delete anything they see as against left leaning ideology.

This just in, Twitter has banned the term illegal alien as hate speech. And it goes on as those above have espoused. El Rushbo told his audience to use the term alien illegal.

I've just explained what is the cultural climate in which the SV operates (and the people's profile that works on it). Change that and you undo the Valley culture and innovation. Can't have both at same time. The fact that some fringe conservatives were kicked out of social media was expected (to use your analogy, it is like asking why Fox & Friends don't say good things about Dems & Obama). You violate the terms of use, you got kicked out (or 'we reserve the right to refuse service to annoying costumers'). Concerning being a virtual monopoly: what you suggest? Government regulation!? What happened to the GOP? You guys used to be anti-regulation + no government deficit... Finally, going after SV giants is just finding a 'new enemy of the people' to keep people distracted.

I never said they should be regulated. Don't pull that crap with me. I am just pointing out their inability to accept any other idea but their own stifles free speech. I personally feel that all ideas need to be shown (as long as it doesn't cause harm to children), so that people can make up their own minds. The SV crowd is so like the "fascists" they as so against.

Do you think he should been have overseeing the investigation ? Fired because he was forced to do the right thing, or fired because he’s not protecting Trump ?
