When I see debris in a right curve I can't see all the way through. Sand, gravel, dead etc. I keep to the left of it so as not to come into contact with it in case the debris trails to the right edge of the road which would force me to the edge of the road

Plus it allows me to see further through the curve.

Yesterday I was zip, zap, zooming towards a right curve.

As my brain said move I found myself on the right side of the gravel in the center of my lane.

Halfway through the curve a dually pickup towing a very bloody long low trailer appeared with it's trailing left side wheels right in the path I would have taken if I had been following my usual practice.

I would have been able to lean further but that in turn would have brought me into contact with the gravel.

That little voice's name is Experience. We are all wise to listen to it.
Glad he whispered loud enough to be heard over the sound of your pipes. cooldude

Had an experience once while approaching a blind railroad crossing where I clearly heard a loud voice yell stop.

It startled me so much that I slammed on the brakes.

One second later a freight train barreled through the crossing.

Ever since then I have believed that inner voice is really Divine Intervention.
