Accu weather says Saturday October 13th is looking nice with temps in the upper 60's and the leaves are looking good for the Catskills

Here in the Hudson Valley we have some reds coming out already

Hoping for the weather to hold up for the ride !

Can't wait  Smiley

I am trying to get home by early afternoon to lead a ride for those coming here from long distances that will take you down some local fun roads and perhaps include an ice cream stop before dinner here  Just have one case in court in the am then I am off

Gary I will call you during the week, but we should have everything under control.

It would be helpful if we knew how many are coming from out of town and will be eating with us.

Our home is five minutes north of the host hotel

Craig my best guess is between 14 and 18 bikes for the ride
and 15-20 for dinner   Hopefully I get confirmation PM and responses on this thread

Oss, I'll be arriving Friday, not sure on time yet.  I don't eat much, so if I'm there in time for dinner (did you mention a time?)  I'LL see you then, but don't count on it.

I have been looking forward to tis ride for over a month!
Sadly my dizzy spells have gotten even worse not better.  I started new medication yesterday I'm hoping i will be up for the ride!  I even pulled my boat out of the water early knowing next week is the last boating weekend.

If it were me and I was having dizzy spells I would not want to be going up Perkins, thru 106 and down the Shawangunk and down the mountain pass from Slide Mountain, but that is just me, an old scardy cat

How about this, I will repeat the ride, just for you when you are no longer dizzy

Even throw in lunch.  Just dont want to see a brother get in over his head when he should know better. Seen too many go down over the years from all kinds of stuff unknown.

Ha, I was trying to figure out who Michael was and why you didn't like him?  Looks like he's coming through on Thursday, staying well south of lower NY & NE and a great weekend is predicted.

Unfortunately, I'll be involved in a roofing job and it doesn't look good for me getting away.  I was hoping to at least get down for Sunday's ride, but don't think so.

If that changes, I'll be at Evan's by 8am.

You guys have a great time.

Plug this into your GPS
13 tappan terrace  briarcliff manor ny 10510 is friday dinner at 7 but you can come earlier   and
start of Saturday ride at 845 am (because I just know there will be some who forgot to get gas or who need the bathroom after their morning coffee)

Skinhead if you are coming from 80 take 287north to the Thruway south and take the right lane about a mile after the TZ Bridge across the Hudson to Saw Mill Parkway NORTH [ the ramp is dangerous when wet please take it slow till the uphill grade) to the Taconic to the 9A/100 exit Stay on the 9A to Chappaqua Rd (2nd light) make right and 1st left on Tappan Terr  RDABull same for you if you are coming thru 78 take 287 North and follow the same directions

The hotel is the exit for 9A which is the exit after the 1st exit you pass (for eastview)  The hotel is right across the street at the exit light

If anyone has any food allergies please let me know in a PM so we dont accidentally kill you before the ride   angel

I'm happy to report my dizzy spells seem to have broken at least for 48 hours sadly do to the death of a close friend I will not be able to attend.  I hope everyone has a great time and a safe ride!  I hope to meet up in the near future for another ride.
I did take the bike out for a one mile ride today just to warm it up a bit.  I really enjoyed the short ride!

Barring any dizzy spells over the next two days I plan to join you for at least the first part of the trip then I will have to break off to head to celebration of life for a friend that just past.  I have to be in Tuxedo at noon which won't be far from say perkens or some of the other routes you have planed.
If there is anyway for you to send me the proposed route I will figure out where to break off.
Looking forward to the ride!

Hi OSS, my work issues have been worked out and the rain/wind looks to be over very early Friday morning. Trish’s Trike is in the shop with a speedo issue so we will head north about 7AM Friday on my Goldwing.  Should be able to stop over to your house before 7PM if traffic holds out. We are looking forward to a great ride and visiting with friends.

Looks like Dan got a bad tank of gas, went from running great to carbs plugged up in just a few miles.  We limped into Mark's and he tried to get us on the rod again but it looks like a carb overhaul is called for.  Dan is renting a car tomorrow and heading home, Mark will tear everything down next week and get her back in top shape.  Thanks Mark (and Twila) Sorry to miss everybody and the fall ride over there.  As they say, there is always next year.

I told Stan I would call him today (Friday) to confirm things, hoping maybe my surgery would be rescheduled again (it was originally scheduled 2 weeks ago which would have left me plenty of time to get back in shape for the ride)….I will let you know what he says after I speak to him...

Baldo is in......got in early this morning. Bike is packed, waiting for the rain to let up a bit before leaving. I'll see you when I see you....

And it was an engine change, not a repair....lol...changing the big piece always fixes it, doesn't it?

I hope you all had a great day today!  I was really looking forward to this for over a month now.  I wasn't going to let my health get in the way and in the end knowing I had a memorial service at 11:30 and the fact that it was raining prevented me from at least starting the trip with all of you.  I hope the weather didn't impede your good times the afternoon seemed real nice! Sadly I spend the day crying my eyes out it was a very emotional service something I didn't expect but the entire room just expressed such deep love for a good man.  I'm glad I didn't miss it!

DGS, check the fun riding thread for the report and a few pics

Waiting for Trish to email me pics or post them to either thread but they have to get home first.  Last I heard they stopped in Delaware to watch the Bears play.  Dan is a Bears fan   Doubt they made it all the way to Virgina Beach on Sunday but they are long distance riders you never know....

We were 8 bikes for the ride, the weather was not optimal but the roads were not slippery and the leaves were all on the sides of the road as it was very dry and windy friday.

It was a great group. To all who missed out, we missed youse guys but look forward to next year.  I just may move the ride back another week to take advantage of better colors.

Hi OSS,
It was a great ride. We did stop in northern Delaware at Hooters to watch the Bears game. Got home around 10pm. Trish should get the pictures organized and posted on Facebook today. Bonnie should be able to see them. If not let me know.
Thanks,

Thanks Evan and Bonnie for being great hosts and a super ride for my first time up in the northeast on the ol gurl. Spent the night in Syracuse, 17 is not a bad road for a highway. In Toronto tonight, just finished meetings for the night, heading back to Michigan tomorrow snow permitting  tickedoff
