there is a 3k bike for sale that fell over..it dented the tank and some fairing damage that "has been repaired but needs painting"..the picture shows a good repair for what is shown but needing paint....in yall's opinion would a tip over need more than some cosmetic repair if it dented the tank and broke/dinged the fairing..

There could be cracked mounting surfaces. If it is a complete bike and running , yes , worth $3000.00. The chance is worth taking. Go with cash and make an offer.

My interstates fell over (even fell and slid once) and never hit the tank or the fairing.
That's what the fore and aft guards are for.
I doubt it just fell over. (It could have fell
on something
.)

No you can buy one that has never been dropped for way less.
Maybe $3500 if that is all that is wrong with it..no more.
And with a 20 yr old bile with only 3k on the clock, there is no telling what else needs to be done. I would be more comfortable buying one with 100k on the clock that has no damage.

There are a lot of issues that will pop up with a 3K mile bike, tires, most rubber parts will be dried up, carbs if not stored properly are probably gummed up, calipers collect moisture and don't work properly, and the list goes on. You are better off with a bike that has been ridden 3K miles a year (and maintained properly) than one that was only ridden 3K miles total.
Good luck,
Jim

skip it if over say 3500 bucks. I would not buy it if needing major cosmetic work for over 3 grand for sure. I picked up my 1998 tourer with sparkles on it 78K miles pretty good shape for the mileage and year but not even close to perfect for 3K last November near 1 year ago.
One guy has a 2000 Interstate in black needing some work for sale I test rode only had around 30K miles on it or so but was abused and scratched up pretty bad needing some work. He wanted 4 grand for it and it did run well/fine, but cosmetically I did not want to insult him by offering 2500 bucks so I left. It is still for sale near 2 months later now.
