Re. Ohio getting beat and UCF winning #20, one needs to remember that no matter how good you might be as a team or an individual sport(golf?), there's always someone that will hand you your butt on any given day. That will happen to UCF eventually and who knows, they may go on to win another long list of games. Ohio is a good example with the beating they rec'd. from a major underdog...."on any given day".....
At least 55 yrs. ago when I first started hacking my way around a golf course, I wasn't a threat to anyone with a modicum of skill in the game. I had only recently finally broke 100 and was thrilled with my performance. At the time I worked for Xerox in the Chicago area and we had a fellow employee that bragged of a 3 handicap; i.e., a talented player for a non-pro. By sheer coincidence, one afternoon I ran into him at a local course I used near our house so we decided to play a round together, I figured this would be like Slaughter on 10th Avenue. Just for fun, when ever he hit a shot I would exclaim what a great shot, really bragged on him a little not realizing the effect it was having on his game. By the end of the front nine, we were within two strokes of each other. Then it dawned on me so after some refreshments, I continued my "adoration" on the back nine. For the first time since I started playing I shot in the low 80's, don't do that now. The braggert shot an even 90. From that day on, we never heard about his golf game at work. At one point during our game, he got so mad he threw his club halfway down the fairway of a par 3 hole, then when he went to retrieve it he ran over it with his cart. Like Ohio this weekend, the better golfer couldn't hit a bull in the ass with a bass fiddle if he was sitting on its back, and that same day I couldn't miss it seemed....hasn't happened since that I recall. So, no matter how good you think you might be at something, sooner or later.....
