Someone trying to make up for the Supreme Court backlash.

Personally, I am suspicious of "who" the culprit maybe. IMHO, the bombs were definitely a message and it's hard for me to conceive that there were nine screwed up devices. But, I admit that is possible. Unless the intent was to simply send a message and incite/motivate Dems to go to the polls.
Knowing this is a federal offense with some major jail time involved for a conviction. It was obviously executed by a radical.

Only 6 stamps to send a piece of metal pipe?
It doesn't seem on the up and up.
The only place-- as far as I have seen-- that mentioned the lack of canceled stamps was the Independent out of UK.
If the stamps weren't canceled, did they really go through the postal service? And if they didn't, it would have to be multiple people who hand delivered the packages, since the locations are fairly far apart.
The devices all seem to follow a similar pattern of build.

This incident is rather odd. My opinion is that if this was a right wing extremist, the attacks would be targeting actual Democrat candidates running in various races across the country. And the attacks would have been initially successful. They would not have mailed defective pipe bombs to irrelevant political actors in this election cycle. That makes no logical, or even illogical sense.
But this does make sense if you are wanting to sway opinion if favor of Democrats. I believe this is the action of a left wing extremist bent on creating a news story to sway public opinion against the Republicans. May not even be extremist. After seeing the Democrats whip up bogus charges against Kavanaugh and the leftist and media pretty much crucify him and his family, after seeing the rhetoric come from these leftist, this "bomb" incident would be an easy dot to connect to the left.
I know we've seen things like this before. Nazi symbols being painted on college campuses and finding out they were painted by leftist who blamed those on the right and similar issues in the past.
To put it another way, the right wing expects results, the left love symbolism.
This is symbolism in the extreme. Therefore likely a left wing extremist action.

We played army with toy guns all the time. When that got boring, we'd go over to a nearby abandoned orchard and pick up partially rotten apples, shove good Canadian 2" Black Cat firecrackers in them, light and heave them at each other. The fuses were not always consistent, so the idea was to heave it before you blew wormy apple in your own face. The Silver Salutes and Cherry Bombs in slingshots came later. In some cases, the flaws were substantial. In others, more subtle, they said.
The news comes after investigators said the devices appeared poorly made and that it was unclear if they were hoaxes or simply cases of bad construction.

Oh yeah, MSM getting out ahead of the story and blaming Trump (MAGA)... again. No doubt they've heard what we've all heard.... that there's a distinct possibility this is a lefty lunatic trying to influence the midterms. I think that is a very good possibility (esp since the whole thing is such a screw-up). But it's too early to tell, and I don't expect to hear much about what they are finding. So leave it to MSM to spin it THEIR way. There's a lot of speculation that none of these devices could explode. I'm wondering if there was any pyrotechnic in them at all. |
