I know you had a soft spot for them Mike but they were overpriced.

An ST1300 could be bought for 2/3rd their cost and have Honda dealership "support".

It is always a shame to see any business founder.

I was disappointed as well. I liked that they got the best from their suppliers. I was hoping to see one with the technology that it should have had right from the start with lean sensitive ABS/MTC. Believed it was coming down the pike, just not fast enough.

Another quality motorcycle producer shutting down production due to money woes.  Too bad.  Look for them to turn up at auction in 10-20 years as collectors seek them out.  Have never even seen one up close out here on the frontier.  Are they as cool to ride as they look?

I went to the dealer north of Atlanta and they let me ride one for 65 miles out in
the country... I think they're AWESOME...

"the issue was maintaining the cash flow" Not a problem if they'd sold more bikes.
They chose a market that is almost impossible to survive in. If they going to build into that niche, I think they pretty much had to make a bike that qualified for some existing mainstream class of racing, and then they needed to win on occasion. Otherwise they were pretty much a self-indulgence, an answer to almost nobody's question. How many did they really expect Jay Leno to buy?  At least they were more powerful than a DeLorean.
Hopefully they'll be able to hold control over that excellent powerplant, and see how many places they can it it-PWC, side by sides, small speedboats, etc.

There is a guy over in the V4musclebike forum that has one. Lives in Atlanta. Last year he did an Iron Butt out to Texas, rested overnight then set a new top end record for the world's fasted bagger. Record was previously held by an HD, much modified and hauled there on a trailer. The Motus was bone stock. Think the HD was in the mid 150mph area and the Motus ran a 164mph with a bone tired driver.......oh and he rode it back home from the races.

Shame that their Bonneville records weren't well publicized. This is the first time I'd heard of the achievement.
