Howdy and Welcome!

<-- Benefactor Patriot Life Member

My 16 year old (Then 15 year old) got her birthday and Christmas present this past spring at the NRA convention here in Dallas, she's now a Life Member!

And the now 7 year old triplets all went to the NRA convention at least, I'll wait until they're old enough to know what they're asking for before buying them Life Memberships...

And after I voted a few days ago, as many folks were posting "I voted!" selfies, this was mine that I posted on social media, it definitely triggered a few snowflakes... Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

Not being one for social media, what is the meaning of the "snowflakes"?

Snowflake

A term for someone that thinks they are unique and special, but really are not. It gained popularity after the movie "Fight Club" from the quote “You are not special. You're not a beautiful and unique snowflake. You're the same decaying organic matter as everything else."

Began being used extensively as a putdown for someone, usually on the political left, who is easily offended or felt they needed a "safe space" away from the harsh realities of the world, but now has morphed into a general putdown for anyone that complains about any subject.
Comedians have a hard time performing on college campuses anymore because of all the little snowflakes running around that get offended by just about anything they say.

Another definition I have heard of "SNOWFLAKES" is when you see the "special people" melt down when they realize that they are not going to get their way.

Sort of like the ultra liberals did when Hillery lost.

If anyone's interested, you can get a life membership for $600 instead of the usual $1500 here:

Before purchasing any high-dollar items (like lifetime memberships), you should head to your local jeans store and purchase six or twelve pairs of every size they're going to need between now and when they're 12 or 13, when they start to have definite opinions on the style of their jeans and are able to work paper routes to fund those styles.  Be quick; their cuffs are quickly heading for their knees!

I was the first reply on this thread, when I said I recently renewed. That was probably back in June; maybe May. Today, I got a big envelope with my current card in it that expires in 2019, telling me that I need to renew very soon. The left hand and the right hand aren't shaking very well right now.

My new card arrived today even though I renewed a few months ago. If I was less short sighted when I was younger, I should have gotten a life time membership. I would have saved money. At least it goes to a good cause.

Luckily they've got several grandparents, aunties, friends, etc. etc. etc. that LOVE showering them with clothes, we're pretty well set in that area...

(And they've each got their own .22 pistol, rifle, and silencer to match too... Cheesy )

I got my first Tavor, set it up properly, loved it so much it became my kept hot, ready SHTF gun, then one day at a gun show I was made an offer I couldn't refuse for a second one, and well... I was in the market for spare parts for the first one but when the opportunity to pick up a spare gun for not much more than the spare parts I was gonna buy came up..... Lucked out on that one! Love that design so much, I've always loved the idea of a bullpup, but the reality of one never worked for me, until I picked up a Tavor...

I have been a life member for many years but that doesn't mean much they still call all the time looking for more money

Call them and tell them you wish to opt out of calls, mailings and e-mails. I've done so and haven't heard from them in years.  (I let them send me physical mail, and they do still send those, but no phone calls and only e-mails on the lists I've specifically requested to be on.)

From the NRA website:

We also use your information to send you notices in the mail or by email about special member benefits, discounts and offers. If you do not wish to receive mailings, you can: (1) opt out of email lists immediately by following the instructions at the bottom of each email; (2) email us using our Contact Us page, (3) call us at 1-800-672-3888; or (4) write to us at National Rifle Association of America, 11250 Waples Mill Road; Fairfax, VA 22030.
