Im retired......but stay just really busy keeping up with grandkids school and sports functions......keeping a couple rent houses on line....home projects and the wifeys Honey do list.    But ever now and then I just gotta have a "ME" day.

Its been raining in the Houston area for about 4 weeks solid it seems......finally we got 3 beautiful days.   Today was Beautiful Day 3.    Got up this morning and left Tomball Tx around 7 am.  Rode to Sargent, Tx, to Freeport, to Surfside, down the Blue Water Highway to Galveston, Tx.    Ran into an old motorcycle friend in Galveston on his bike and he bought lunch at Millers on the Seawall.   Great place to eat.     Nothing tastes better than Grilled Shrimp and fixins bought by someone else.   Left him in Galveston and continued on to the Galveston Ferry and rode it to Bolivar Island, then through Crystal Beach, Gilcrest, Rollover Pass, to Winnie Tx.   Then on to Liberty Tx to Humble Tx to Houston to Tomball.   Total backroads day 360 miles.   Great ride.   Due to all the rain lately the Motorcycle world has been shut down and now Everyone is out riding in this cool weather.   Everyone has been shut in and so glad to get out that EVERY motorcyle I WAVED at waved back!!!!   Even the riders with no helmets waved back!!!

Man I had my thinking cap on all day and in my mind I cured all our Nations political problems, Economic Problems......etc.etc.etc........and even cured cancer.    However.....by the time I got home my Altheimers kicked in and I forgot all the cures.....dang....hate it when that happens.  Anyways, it was a great day.   Now that hunting season opens in a few days.....I'll not be riding for a while....gonna miss it.  All you Texas guys and gals need to enjoy our brief period of no rain as we got more coming tomorrow night.    Then it will soon be getting cold.....or what we call cold....so enjoy the sunshine while we have it.

Good on you for getting out. Yes, nothing like hitting the road for a good day of solo riding with your thoughts to yourself... our minds do need that once in a while in order to sort themselves out. Good post cooldude

cooldude Sounds like a great day for a therapeutic session. Sounds like fun and to meet up with a friend for a "I'll buy lunch" at a favorite spot, priceless!  smitten How many miles did you get in on the ride? I need that prescription over this way! Enjoy your hunting season!  coolsmiley

Love that area! When Hotglue was still doing his BBQ every spring my standard ride was to come down from the Dallas Metromess through East Texas back roads to Winnie TX, then run along the coast on the Bolivar peninsula to the Galveston ferry, then up to Mr. Glue's place...

I need to make that run again soon just because, love riding along the coast in Galveston. I wear a helmet 99.99% of the time, but every once in a while I gotta ride along the coast hat-less and let the ocean breeze blow through my hair...

Thanks for taking us along!

Yeah, a buddy and myself did about 100 miles last Friday (26th) for the first time in a couple yrs mainly due to the weather lately (rain) but also other commitments. (house remodeling)

Had some tax business in a couple of the surrounding towns so we made a day of it and hit a couple of the old beer joints!

The weather was gorgeous!!
