Say What You mean Mean What You Say

Rockyview County, Alberta 2001 Interstate

« on: December 25, 2018, 09:26:08 AM »

My son bought this bike for my 7 year old grandaughter. It was in very nice shape when he bought it, but decided to order the  Vector Graphics Files from Kuberg and customized them on Adobe Illustrator and had them printed and sliced by a local shop. He painted the plastics and applied the graphics. I think it looks awesome.

Kuberg Electric Trials bike for kids between about 6-10. It will do about 16-18mph(limit is adjustable) has fully adjustable front shocks. Preload only for the rear shock. It looks very well constructed. It uses 3 sport bike size batteries for 36 volts. About 2hr running time.
Used bikes are almost impossible to find and hold their value very well.

That's a great starter bike.   cooldude

Quiet and slow, to teach basic skills and balance, but she needs to wear gear anyway (one of those motocross helmets with the chin protector) .

And no letting her friends ride it (without parental consent, and even then).

15 mph on trails is more than enough for young kids. He has her properly suited up cooldude
BTW..This a "stand on the pegs" Trials Bike. There is a seat available for motocross.

1st and 2nd pic, you can see the chain on the other side. Then I take it the electric motor at the head of the swing arm.

Would have loved it myself when a kid. We rode the old Honda Trails, 50 and 75.

am sure she will love it for a few years anyways.  Looks neat for most 5-8 year olds.  If like my kid when he was age 7 buying a 90cc youth ATV,  by the time he is age 8 (maybe 9 depending on kid) he will want to go faster and faster top speed on it was around 35 mph flooring it all the time on the trails.  We bought it brand new carryover model with 300 rebate for 1800 (plus tax) and sold it for 1500 when age 11ish or so since that last year was too slow and small for him constantly wanting to drive the adult sized ATV I had which I let him age 11-12.   Hard to beat a 300 dollar depreciation in about 1500 miles or more of driving it all over the place some 4-5 years of use.

Problem with electric bikes, etc. is the limited driving time and batteries are not cheap either to replace every 3-5 years either.  I see my neighbors, etc. buying these 500 dollar battery powered plastic 4 wheel vehicles (basically Barbie jeeps, etc.) that only go 5-6 mph is all and cannot see how that would be any fun for any kid over age 5 going that slow.  By the time most kids reach age 7, they are too big for them.  Why not just buy age 6-7 a gas powered cycle/ATV that will last 5 years or more for him/her and then sell it for a decent price as well if still in good shape?  More fun, more power-speed, less hastle, longer driving range, and better resell usually.  Hard to go 5-6 hours on the trails on any electric bike/atv....

This bike will be passed on to Maya's little sister...with new graphics and paint. My grandson was 4 when he rode his first electric bike.(Oset). Unless there is some sort of seismic battery invention, they will all be riding gas bikes eventually.
They don't question having fun(or the type of bike) when they gather for a ride with moms, dads and friends.(I think it is time for me to a get bike and join them)

Man when you get your own little pink electric trials bike, please post up a pic of you riding it for us...... please?    Grin

I miss trail riding, and if we had any decent trails or places to dirt ride anywhere close by (at all), I'd get something to fool around on myself.

that is good, being passed onto younger siblings getting more use out of it than just 3-4 years for only 1 kid.  only issue I see getting a dirt bike for me anyways is all the seats are super skinny and am sure hard as a rock.

And...a grandson two years younger than Emma, for a total of 6 years of use.
Re: the Trail Bike Seat...Two Gel Pads placed carefully just outboard the grapes Shocked Shocked for a little extra clearance. I like standing when it gets rough.
