A wonderful series of half-hour shows usually had some moral messages to impart during the cold war and civil rights eras.  Rod Serling wove some good stories in his baritone voice and casual demeanor while introducing the episode.  Some scripts pulled no punches about the right and wrong of man.  Even black, white, and greys made a point in the filming.
Some fine actors and actresses with minor roles went on to bigger things.
Used to sprint home in the dark and streetlight shadows from Boy Scout meetings in time to get delighfully scared by the Twilight Zone opening sequence and music. Shocked

Thanks for the heads up. I’m going to watch some when I get home from work. He narrated another show later in the 60’s, early 70’s called “Night Gallery”. As I kid the beginning of the “Outer Limits” was kind of freaky.

Night Gallery was pretty new my freshman year in college.

Every week when it played, you could walk around the dorm hallways, and everyone was watching it.

The Twilight Zone episodes that have lasted all these years in my memory, were the guy on the airliner looking out the window with a Yetti-monster on the wing (I have no idea how he held on at 300+mph). The one armed bandit that came after the compulsive gambler in his hotel room.  The diner cook (way out in nowhere) when they had some extra terrestrial activity going on, and when the cook took his chef hat off at the end of the episode, he had a third eye in his forehead.  And Burgess Meredith, the meek librarian, who only wanted to read books after the Apocalypse meltdown, except he broke his glasses.

Will the Real Martian Stand Up.

And the good Justice Brett Kavanaugh, commenting on what was happening to him being right out of the Twilight Zone.  (and he wasn't wrong)

New: smitten Enjoyed most all the Night Gallery episode's along with the Twillight  Zone series. This one you reference I believe with the Yetti-monster was what help propel William Shatner into his StarTeck series. He was the passenger that couldn't keep from looking out his window and spoting the gremlin.  smitten

Farside:  ...William Shatner into his StarTeck series. He was the passenger that couldn't keep from looking out his window and spotting the gremlin.

I logged a lot of aircraft miles when on active duty.  Including 4-5 trips back and forth over the Atlantic.  I always want an isle seat if I can get it, but the window is better than the center.  Anyway, in the middle of the night, with the whole plane asleep, I tell you that episode always made me think twice about opening the sun shade on my window to look out to the heavens (and the wing).   Shocked

I mean, even if you saw something out on the wing (or worse, right on the other side of the window), no one would believe you, and they'd be looking to throw a net over you right quick.

Irrational fears are as real as rational ones.

I will never forget being on the USS New Orleans LPH-11 during a typhoon and seeing a couple of those destroyers with us. They were hitting those waves so hard, I can't imagine what it was like to be on there.

One episode where a gremlin was throwing stuff into into the aircraft engine, the passenger watching was Capt James T kirk/ Wm Shatner.
