Hey friends: just thought I’d post this as I’m pretty disappointed with Babbits online. It’s a parts house for motorcycle parts etc. Anyway, I ordered a part on Saturday, then a few moments later, I realized I needed the next higher assembly. I requested a cancellation. I tried to call the first thing monday morning but was place in eternal hold. Still, I had several emails to their order dept from Saturday requesting the cancellation so I figured I would be OK. I finally got an email from them this evening (over 24hrs later) stating that they could not honor my request because 1) they needed notification within an hour of order and 2) could not cancel an order if the request was after the first hour of opening on Monday morning. My request met both of their requirements but still they are shipping the parts without cancelling the order. They told me that I could return the parts (but failed to mention the 20% restocking fee plus the shipping being on me, which eats up the entire cost of the order). So, I’m just letting you know. Babbits is not an honorable dealer of parts. They are liars and will not honor their own policies. Hope to save you from my mistake.

Is it being sent via USPS? If so, don't open it or mess with it at all, just write "return to sender" by the address and give it back to the postman or at their office. Won't cost you a dime. Once you open it then send it back, it's on your dime. I've done the same with UPS and FedEx, kinda irritates them but tough. Then call Babbitts and let them know you met their requirements but they didn't and the package is coming back untouched. Then let them know you're ordering elsewhere. If a credit card was used, talk to the bank that issued it, I'll bet you don't pay the 20% restocking fee.

agree,  good ideas.  if paid by credit card,  you can get your money back regardless usually.  I have found the few times I have been ripped off that my citi card reps when called are on my side the 3-4 times I have had to use them the past 20 years or so when unjust practices were done to me.
