Since Trump was elected, I've stopped watching late night shows. I can't stand their political bashing. Carson had some advice worth hearing.

I stopped watching Meet the Press for the same reason. The show went to hell in a hand basket with the passing of Tim Russert.

Same here....used to really enjoy Jimmy Fallon and Kimmell...can't stand either one because of their whiney ignorance....a political joke here or there is ok ...but theirs is a constant bashing...I'm sure this has hurt some of their viewership and affected sponsors ...hope they "pay" for the consequence for their actions. They've lost me !!

Eleven PM here on Antenna TV channel, I get a complete show of the real Johnny.

Tonight was Betty Davis and Richard Prior.  (1983)   Decent entertainment.

It's like old times.

Art Fern and Carol Wayne, and the fork in the road to the Slausen Cutoff.

I stopped watching when that A$$HOLE Letterman went after Palin's kids.

For me, THAT's when it all turned ugly.

The show went to hell in a hand basket with the passing of Tim Russert.

He was awesome. Insightful. Respectful. Smart. What journalism ought to be.
I don't know of anything or anyone on teevee now like that, but would like to.

Comedy now is being a rude jerk. I still vaguely remember the old guys, Red Skelton and Bob Hope.
And then Johnny Carson. The original Saturday night live - it was weird and silly - google "bag of glass"
or "samurai hotel"... I certainly don't watch it now, but my belief is that its jokes (and those of
the Johnny Carson replacements) are all centered around f-you you stupid non-progressives. I'd
love to be wrong.

I have better things to do than watch the crap on TV. Satire used to be funny, now it's nothing short of spiteful, mean and derogatory.

Edit:  I know people that have Fox News on all day long and dwell on it. Their life is 24-7 politics.   I watch the news once a day for the weather. l see the crap going on, and that's enough, once.

agreed.  I watch old you tube videos of Carson, Dean Martin roasts and listen to radio shows from the 40's and 50's on the satellite radio in the car   My commute is half an hour, if I leave at half past the hour I hear a whole show on the way home of Dragnet or some other show from back in the day before I was born

Oss

and sometimes the TomPetty channel and deep tracks

Johnny Carson was the best talk show host there will ever will be.

I loved the Dean Martin roasts, especially when Foster Brooks was taking part in the show. Now that there was funny entertainment!  2funny
