Hey All, Last summer I bought a Rugged Geek. This is a small re-chargeable power box with all kinds of plug ins for different things like cell phones, even has cables for car battery's. JimC actually was the one that told me about it. Anyway, couple weeks ago it was -27 degrees, you guessed it, car would not start. Grabbed the Rugged Geek, hooked to battery and shazam, started the car. If it can do that, well that is good enough for me. This one also has a tire pump. It is always in the bike. Never know when you might need it. Thanks Jim, Don

I think that might be the one that saved DDT when his alternator went out.

I think that might be the one that saved DDT when his alternator went out. That is the one, I read about DDT using it to get home when his alternator went out, and thought it was a great idea. It is a powerful little bugger, I jump started my son's diesel bobcat with it the other day. Best part about it, it fits in the saddlebag quite nicely. Jim

Ok, just to save me the trouble of going back and finding the original post on that(I do remember it), how about a model number or some such. PS: Was thinking on it and the number RG1000 sticks in my mind, is that the one?

I have one (GB40) and have used it a couple of times. It cranked over a CBX1000 with no battery in the bike. My friend bought the bike based on the compression observed while cranking. Like you all, it stays in the saddlebag.

And YES, your memory is still quite good. Those things look like a very good idea (and can be moved around for multiple duty).
But I am not telling anybody I have a Rugged Geek on my bike. That doesn't sound quite right.

Jim, sounds like a winner, plus I have a b'day coming up in about 5 weeks so maybe if I print out the picture from Ebay or Amazon and leave it laying around someone just might get the hint.

TP. Yes they look very similar, the extra amps may very well come in handy. One thing I liked about the Rugged Geek is the air compressor, I don't see one listed with the one in your link?
