In anticipation of doing a good bit of riding over the next several months, I have begun checking the health of my fat girl and putting things in top shape for the trips to come.

The front tire was about to get into the wear bars.  Some miles left in it, however, Not enough for a trip of much length.  My next trip will be 1500 to 2000 miles and some of those could be wet.........so ...... no time to be skimping on tires.

New front and rear tires mounted:
     .

My rear tire was still in fair shape but, if all goes as planned, I will soon be too busy to change the rear tire before beginning my long roundabout ride to Taos.  While I had the rear apart, I replaced the seal on the drive shaft.  The seal was good and the splines are good but that seal had 28k miles on it and had been through 6 inspections.  They are cheap and I have extras on hand.

A girl with new shoes is a happy girl.  My girl is now ready for the Bigwolf Recon.

What make is the rear tire?

I'd like to see it once inflated.

Britman,
You can’t see the rims in that photo but they are both mounted and fully inflated in that photo.

The rear is an Accelera Alpha 205/60R 16 with a 300 UTQG.  In the photo, it has 40 lbs in it but after a short break in, I will drop that down to 34.  They don’t make those tires any more.   Angry this is the last of the 2 that I bought shortly before they were discontinued.

That’s interesting, neither Mitch or I could find them anywhere last summer.  Thanks for sharing that link.
