The problem with social postings are multiple. You can't see the face or know the voice inflections, so we often define the meaning of the answer to your own preconceived notion of what you think the answer would be from the poster. A funny comment in person looks like a scathing insult in print. And no one ever changed anyone's mind or opinion as a result of a social post.
I don't think in any way I will change one person's opinion on Meathead or Baldo, but that's OK. I admit I was wondering about the postings of both these guys and made it a point, a goal, to meet them at Inzane and talk. I found 2 thoughtful guys who are as patriotic as I am, but with different views on how the country should achieve it's goals. Neither told me that they wanted an overthrow of the government just changes.
I rode with Meathead and his lovely wife Brenda, shared a meal and found out they are amazing people. I was on the scavenger hunt ride and when a bike broke down due to an electrical issue, Baldo used his tools and the electrical parts he had in his trunk to get this Valkyrie trike back running while the rest of us watched and tried to figure out what he was doing on that Valkyrie trike.
I posted my opinion, you guys posted yours and the sun came up this morning an hour later than yesterday. Life is good. God is good.
Excellent points, Mark. And thank you for the kind words...and to keep things straight, I did have some help with that trike...it was all good in the end. I kick myself in the butt. The solenoid was smoked, and I always carry a spare, but couldn't find it until I got home. We just jumped the coil and got it working...crisis averted.
I've attended three Inzanes now, soon to be four. I was very apprehensive headed out to my first, Morgantown. That one was a solo venture, my riding partner couldn't make it. I had no idea what the reception would be, given past experience on the forum. I was very pleasantly surprised when I made a point to meet the guys that I'd 'sparred' with over the year or two prior.
It was really a hoot to see their expressions once I introduced myself...lolol. But it was all good, no negative vibes, at least to my eye.
This is a great forum, well run by admin. I don't always agree with everything, but that's the way things work, isn't it?
