      WHY am I NOT surprised the whole shebang is made up? Does smollet as a gay man have any idea how far he has set back stuff for the rest of the lgbt community in general? I neither understand nor condone their-lgbt-lifestyle choices but smollet being a gay man of color I fail to see any good come from this at all. Course smollet being a gay man of color in a sanctuary city-Chicago-if he receives much more than a wrist slap I'd be a bit surprised. Whether or not this scheme unraveled what zackly were he tryin to do and shed light on? Not that I actually give half a rats patootie. RIDE SAFE.

I suspect that you folks are right, probation and community service is my expectation, if anything.

As for there being 16 felonies in one crime?? Seems like someone is showboating, trying to appear tough but not really meaning it or creating theater.

They charged him with a crime for every lie.

However, he told two sets of lies to two different cops at different times.

It is very likely a pea agreement will be worked out, and he will plead to some of these charges in exchange for a sentence cap. 

I hope he gets his pay raise.  Grin
