nice day for ride to work yesterday on the Valkyrie But today rain. Tonight lightning also and heavy rain.

It has been a good month for starting the seeds under the plant lights for the garden So far Pansies and marigolds are up, lettuces, cauliflower, broccoli, kale, onions and tomatoes as well.  But still snow on the front lawn.  The bmw has snow all around it.
At this rate will be April before I can get anything in the ground. The tomatoes wont go in till after Mother's day

Any members with green thumbs here?

I've only got a green thumb for things submerged in saltwater... For terrestrial plants, I'm a death sentence... Sad

I normally have a good garden also but it has rained so much here in the Houston area I don't know if it is worth the effort.  My fall garden flooded out and died right off the bat and I replanted twice more only to watch those replanting flood out and die too.     It is finally starting to rain less here so I may still try to get a garden in with tomatos, squash, okra, cabbage and cantelopes.    We'll see.

I do the easy stuff, squash, zucchini, tomatoes, cukes.

Last year I planted some green beans and snap peas in my driveway retaining wall area.

Got hosta planted there and they helped to keep the ground moist.  The beans and peas grew over and down the wall and I was able to pick them while standing in the driveway at chest height.

consider yourself lucky in NY,  in WI am lucky to get anything planted in the ground in April..   Last year I got my plants in too late was in mid May and was not good especially for the early peas planted was too hot and dry when they needed the cool/rain.

Can't get any foodstuffs to grow at this altitude.  There's a reason agriculture here is cattle ranching rather than farming. Potatoes can handle the height as well as cotton.  I miss having a garden...
