While eating breakfast she suddenly laid down her fork and said "it just dawned on me, I'm about to turn 80 years old." So I countered with "dang girl, I've never slept with an 80 year old woman before." Her response was "well honey, you'll be happy to know I've never slept with an 81 year old man before"....referring to my upcoming b'day in a couple weeks. We both started to chuckle a bit when she then commented "isn't it strange that when you're younger the term "slept together" has a more sexual connotation!" To which I added "yes, but in your 80's it's an honest statement." Without expanding on the following conversation, we ended up laughing until we both had tears. Love and desire should not die.  smitten

Just thought I'd share.

As I am sure that you are well aware, true partnership has a lot more going for it than just sex.  In our youth, I think we all have a tighter focus on sex.

Great story, my friend, thanks for sharing it with us. The major milestones, exotic locales, and lengths of times on grand adventures we share are all important, of course, however... the special moments, and the deeper meanings of those, really make relationships more meaningful and precious.
