Sad news from the sho me. About 24 hrs apart we have had two fatals already. On U S 65 a cage went thru the center medium and collided with 3 M/Cs. A Brother Rider later died in the E R.                             And in Springfield Mo. a cage pulled out in front of a M/C the M/C T-boned the cage both went up in flames and Another Brother Rider lost his life.  Cry
As a side note where the cage went thru the center medium there is NO jersey barriers in fact the center medium there IS Just grass. MoDot WILL be installing the barrier cables in that center medium soon.  Lips Sealed If you've ever been on I-44 in Missouri you have seen those cheese grater cables on the I-beam posts that support those death traps for M/Cs.
Anywho be AWARE out there but we as RIDERS KNOW ya can't fix stupid. Look and look and look AGAIN! When we are on our M/Cs Even if we have the right away we may end up paying a terrible price for some one elses idiotic stupidity. RIDE SAFE.

Those barrier cables are a good way to lose an arm or leg. I try to stay far away from them.

Indiana too. I know those cables are supposed to stop a car or truck but would tear a MC rider apart..

Those cable barriers are on I-5 in OR also.   Thankfully I don't ride that stretch of road very often as it is some 70 miles away.

I know why the Hwy  Department uses/wants them, they are cheaper to install/maintain.

Cost savings PRECISELY!  Lips Sealed I queried the A M A bout this 2 or 3 years ago-cable barriers. Maybe need to E-mail them again. Also heard they-MoDot-are fixin to install more of those Motorcycle Rider killers on I-70 in Missouri. I'm going to Springfield Tuesday on a P G R Mission and I'll pay closer attention to U S 60 while traversing that highway. Forced into the center medium on a M/C at speed and cable barrier there attempt to lay it down and hope it don't high side and dump you and yours into those cables at speed. I saw those cable being installed on I-44 here in Missouri Before I retired 10 years ago.  Lips Sealed RIDE SAFE.
