We had a little getaway this weekend. Only 390 miles, but it was good to get Brenda back on the bike. She has been apprehensive about riding since she started having problems with her eye. I hadn’t done the Red Rock Canyon loop since ‘79 on my Yamaha 750. The town has extended out a little since then.  Shocked

Rob,

Impressive visual! Nothing like a good jaunt out and about to lift spirits... Sure hope that worked for Brenda, but I already know the effect it had on you! How did her eye do? Looking forward to more of y'all's ride reports... Hope to be making a few myself soon... as in starting tomorrow!!!

Thanks, Bruce  cooldude Brenda's eye did pretty good. About the same as if she was at home. It's still giving her problems, but it's getting better slowly. Glad to hear things are progressing to the point you can "non plan" an extended ride. (I'd tell you to have fun, but I already know you will)  cooldude

Nice trip and her food expression says it all, and 86 mph! Rob!  police Love the relive and will use it this summer in Norway where we have a 2003 Wing and Sweden we have a 2001 Drifter. Gotta love motorcycle people and the internet as the friends we made there last summer are life long!  smitten cooldude And to really stir the haters,  Evil this year we are going for one month. One of the trips will leave Sortland Norway and travel the island of Senja for a long weekend. We will need to stay on this side of pond in 2020 summer and finally do inzane but at least we have a good excuse. I hope we can get our friends to come over here in 2020 and they can use a horse out of our stable.  coolsmiley

Do it while you still can!

Looks like a great run Rob, thanks for the ride-a-long. Glad Brenda is on the mend, I'd wondered how she was holding up on your trip across the pond.

That software you used is pretty neat, I like that.

I can't remember if I'd already shared this with you but... just a short hop north of your Red Rock Loop about 40 miles to Kyle Canyon makes for a nice over-niter or even to include as part of your run; Mt. Charleston. It tends to run at least 10 degrees cooler than Vegas and gets you away from the masses. I got to finally stay there after the last John & Debbie Prescott BBQ event I'd seen you two at. RJ had mentioned it many years back and I'd always had it on my list.

If you're going to stay I'd recommend the cabins "not" the resort. Hopefully the photo link will work.

Thanks Bill  cooldude I find it interesting as well. I like how it shows your elevation as you go. From a casual observation you would think the desert is relatively flat. But it changes quite a bit.
