This always seems to happen to me after a fresh wax job (whole bike). Almost a magnetic effect for dust.
Some polishes seem to attract more dust than others. Some say dust resistant/repellent. I think Lemon Pledge attracts dust also (bees sure like it too).
I keep a new clean microfiber cloth water (only) wet in a plastic disposable sandwich container (in the saddlebag) to wipe bugs off when fresh, and this does not attract dust. And this cloth only gets used on my shield.

NEXUS.
It clears my window and I really don't notice the dust.
I live in a very dusty, 2 air filters a year, area.
I use the #2 then the #1. Its silicone based and I recommend it.
Might not address the immediate dust magnet problem though.

Reading mixed reviews of Rain-X plastic treatment. Anyone with real-life experiences? I have none to offer but a lot of water and scratchless cloth.

I use Meguair's PlastX on my F6B shield, helps clean up fine scratched and doesn't seem to attract dust to terrible.
I have a short gravel driveway, when I still lived in Illinois, it was a constant battle having 1/4 mile gravel driveway keeping the rock dust from sticking to the bike.
