I’m in the middle of helping a friend go through fixing up the carbs and petcock after a no damage hydrolock. Bike sat too long. Fuel rails leaking and won’t start, jets plugged. I removed the carb bank and am going to put it back in after the shop rebuilds them.

Well I had to disconnect the top coil to move it out of my way and couldn’t remember what color wires went where.

So I took my tank off to get a picture of my coil and there was dust under the tank. Frame all dusty and airbox. That called for an under cover cleaning so now she’s all clean and waxed under the tank and side covers and the coolant reserve tank all fresh and clean.

Bet that ads a few horse power. Lol

Ya I did that a few miles ago. Checked the brushes and cleaned her up like new inside.

Don’t have a problem now. It’s all clean.  Cheesy

Cleanest Valk on the planet I'm sure. Cool
Nothing wrong with keeping a clean (or spotless) bike...I've never subscribed to the "I don't clean my bike 'cause I prefer to ride it" mantra that some promote. You can do both. I've got no problem getting my bike dirty...it just never stays dirty. My neighbors think I'm a bit obsessive in this regard, however I do wish that I had started off being even more so back in the earlier years of owing my Valk...in terms of the extensive "internal" cleaning that you do. After 18 years and no plans to ever get rid of her, I have in recent years been more diligent in this regard, but it would've been nice now to have a few more of my old gal's hidden parts having being looked after from the start as well as the rest of her has been...

I agree.  You can ride it and keep it clean. I have around 165,000 miles in 17 years. So not a iron butt rider by any means but not a garage queen either
