Welcome Al.

It's too bad the dates of the Switzerland InZane will conflict with U.S. InZane.  I really wanted to go!  Cry

Got it on Fleabay recently for $100.
Love it!

Perhaps it is your seat, pretty unique and Love it.

Love it!

My first Valkyrie was that color, I had the seat custom made at the Corbin plant... it had matching burgundy/dark red piping and studs.  I sold the seat to someone after I had the bike custom painted blue.  Your seat sure looks like the one I had made.  Great buy for $100!

Edit: Hey, I found a pic!

Your Bike looks great! I love the piping. TBH your seat looks so sweet with that coordinated Piping and I confess I would take the piping over the studs.

I sincerely applaud your creative vision to custom order a seat that truely takes the bike visually to the next level.

I got lucky on fleabay and recieve undeserved credit for my taste, credit that surely your creativity in custom ordering merits.

I love my Valk, and she always drew compliments but now its pretty much Constant wherever I go  as far as accolades from all riders of all makes ( sort of an ecumenical appreciation).

Having the Two Brothers pipes may be part of that.  I kinda thought before " Cobra, Six Bros, six of one and a half dozen of the other, whats the diff?"

I was wrong, so wrong.  The Two Bros materials, TIG welding, quality fit and finish are much superior to the Cobras...and the way the turnouts sperate the sounds is  a blissful stereo rumble that is neither too loud nor at any cost to hp.

You have also cured my tendency towards terminal uniqueness thinking I had the only Valk around with this setup.  Cool

Other than your seat have you ever seen others like your on our Bike?

May I ask, what is the "official" name for this color leather once offfered by Corbin?

I bought it sight unseen knowing that either its going to look tremendous with the Sedona Red/Pearl Ivory or it will look like some of the punch-in-the-eye custom seats people go crazy with the on-line  custom options from Corbin with much regret to eye and pocket.

It also passed the Mrs. D  comfort test,  so its a go!

She loves the seat. She says the studs have sometime of gemstone embedded.

I don't know about that..but if it pleases her to think so...lol

I haven't seen the seat in many years, I had the bike custom painted in 2001 and sold the seat.  I would have sworn it had studs that matched the piping, but it doesn't look like it in the pic and it's the only pic I can find.  The pipes are custom interchangeable glasspacks (made by my brother-in-law)

I have not seen any other Valkyries with that color seat, but mine may still be out there somewhere... I can't remember who bought it.

I don't know if Corbin still has that color or not; it's not on their website.  I got it in 1999 (I think), but I was at the factory and chose it from huge selection of swatches (way more swatches than shown on their website).

Corbin did have studs that looked like crystals, so your wife may be right... it's hard to tell in the pic.

Here are a few pics after the new paint job and new seat in 2001.  The leather is gray ostrich that matched the texture in the gray/silver part of the paint job.  In the close-up, you can kind of see the ostrich-type texture in the paint.

F6Gal,

Thank your for the thread break.

I think Honda of America stole that awesome blue color of yours and based the  Chromatic Purple they used in the early 2000's on it.

I had  many years ago a 2003 VTX in Chromatic Purple and it looked Blue or Purple depending on the light, however it did not have that extra luminescent depth that your has.

I admire how the Ostrich Grey draws ones eyes away from the Engine and flows visually to create a Valk that looks very balanced visually.

Props to the  photographer for framing this solo set up in the context of a solo sailboat and creating a wider scale and reference point to showcase your Valk,

Ha, thanks for the props.  We were putting together the first VRCC calendar and I needed a good picture.  So, I ran up to Lake Pleasant and rode around taking some shots.  The one with the sailboat was featured as Miss January, 2002.  (I didn't participate in making the calendar selections, since I sent in a pic.)
