Warn convicted illegal aliens, harbored in your sanctuary area, that ICE is coming,.... No punishment.

Warn and oncoming car that a cop is around the bend with a flick of your high beams,... Definite summons on the spot.  Possible arrest and towing of your car at your expense, depending on how the officer feels at that moment.

When did it all get so backwards?

Tell the cop, you've been having a sticky switch problem, and were just working the switch, and to see if your bright led dash display is still working (it's been intermittent) after all the rain.  You don't know nothing about warning people, you didn't even see a cop.

Plead not guilty.  Before court, go to a repair shop and complain about a sticky switch, and take the receipt to court.  Stick to your story.  Make them prove you were warning people.

Except when people speed through my neighborhood (25), I never flash them; I want them to get tickets.

Mine the border.

It's been backwards for some time.

Perhaps.  When the full power and majesty of Government is brought against you (for chickensh!t),  I advise to not roll over for them, and to fight back.

A good story at the scene (which is not under oath) may preclude court altogether.  If it doesn't and you go to court anyway, you either stick with your story, or stand mute and see how that works out for you.

For the record, in 50 years (and 3 months) with a driver's license, I have plead and paid every violation ticketed for, as I was guilty (and to the best of my recollection, none was for chickensh!t).  I twice plead not guilty because I wasn't, and told the truth and was acquitted.

I can understand governments not enforcing federal law, but those actively hindering a federal agency from enforcing federal law, especially by aiding those the feds are taking action against to escape enforcement, should be charged with a federal crime, whether it be politicians or bureaucrats.

My philosophy on warning other drivers about speed traps is that traffic laws are for the protection of people, and if you are not paying enough attention to your speed or your surroundings to avoid being caught, you aren't paying enough attention to avoid other road users, and I want you to get a ticket.

A federal judge ruled that police cannot ticket or punish drivers for flashing their headlights to warn about a possible speed trap.

If I read the article correctly the mayor of chicago-no surprise here at all-has told his cops to NOT cooperate with ICE. And were it up too me-it's not-I would immediately cut off all federal funding to chicago and if still refusing to help 24 hours later cut off all fed money to the state. Well sounded like a gooder idea. RIDE SAFE.
