What they call "night driving " Yellow lensed glasses. Probably able to find them at Cabala's / Bass Pro Shops  / Dick's Sporting Goods / etc.

Personally - it has to be REALLY dark outside before I can't use my polarized prescription bifocal sunglasses (I'm extremely sensitive to light - Corey Hart's "I wear my sunglasses at night" comes to mind). I shudder at the thought of ever needing cataract surgery..

+1....almost any brand / type of the yellow lensed glasses seem to help a lot for me....even shooters glasses in yellow for those of you who shoot....at least that's what I've heard......

One big help is using RainX on the windshield before the rain. It lasts for a month or more.

The comment about dreading cataract surgery is unfounded. I had both eyes done over a year ago. The procedure is easy for the patient and recovery is a big nothing. It's wonderful to not need glasses except for closeup work.

Silicone wipers.  Triple edge if you can find them, my last set I had to order on line as I could not find them locally.  They used to be advertised all the time on TV.  After using them for a while, I found I did not even need the wipers anymore in the rain, the water would just run right off the windshield.

You can get Rainx brand windshield washer fluid as well - probably not as good as the rainx you're talking about, but still better than regular windshield fluid.

And, if a person has cataracts, driving in the rain (and at night, and especially at night in the rain) is more difficult. The surgery improves vision under all conditions, but most noticeably when driving in rain at night. Had both eyes done 11 years ago when I was 49. I believe the replacement lenses (in general, not mine) are better now.

I just finished a bottle of that. Not at all impressed. I'll go back to the direct application.

You just can't beat Rain-X.  I also use nothing but Rain-X washer fluid.  It rejuvenates the original Rain-X application every time you use the washer fluid.  I only have to re-treat my windshield once a year.  I can drive the speed limit without turning my wipers on in a downpour when everyone else has pulled over and stopped.  I see perfectly clear.  You can tell from the oncoming traffic who uses Rain-X, their wipers aren't on.

I have used a good coat applied on then wiped off with a clean cloth rag of windshield cleaner/defogger I bought years ago.  The main ingredient I believe is rubbing alcohol that beads the water on vehicles windshield hardly ever have to use the wipers except in heavier rain, beads right up and runs off.  It lasts a few months tops but is pretty neat.

Not sure though how rubbing alcohol on the cycle's windshield will react to beading and able to see thru it in the rain more so?
