Valk Sighting

Was riding yesterday in Southern NJ. Stopped at the Pic-a-lilli in Schamong NJ and parked behind a red and cream valk with an image of Popeye on the front fender. Anyone here???

Just about everyone I know was in the UP of Michigan.   But, I hope you figure out who it was and if they aren't on this board, bring them in.

I am sure I will catch up to him eventually...

The one thing I noticed was that he left his key in the ignition and was parked 25 feet from the roadway in the parking lot with clear access of a get away....How many of you leave your keys in your bike when you are away from it??

I left my key in the bike twice......in the "on" position both times....

There are times and places that I will leave the key in the bike.  My wife asks me why and I tell her there are two types of people regarding Valkyries.  Those who don't know what a Valk is won't steal it.  Those who do know Valkyries respect them too much to steal one.

Those times and places are safe spots usually near home.  I don't leave the key unattended when I'm on the road and depending upon the Valk for getting me down the way.

For those of you who fear having your Valkyrie stolen, do we have any statistics on Valkyrie theft?

I modded my key with a chrome drawer pull. Most people who aren't familiar with Valkyries don't know it's a key. I leave it in just about every day at lunch. (But I can see it out Dairy Queen's windows)

I've left my key in the ON position more times that I can count. I've been pondering rigging up a circuit for a 'don't kill the battery' chime.

Quit using the kill switch to shut down (or putting the kickstand down in gear), and only use the key, and you won't do that anymore. 

I also left mine with the lights on long enough to push it around the parking lot once.  That learned me.
