Wow, just checked the dates. Can that be correct, says I started this post four years ago?!?!  Seems like one or two. And…. That means I’m averaging just a little over 4,000 miles a year now. At one time I was doing 10,000 in a year.

Wink Yep, you've slacked off for sure!  Undecided  You've have some excused absences.  coolsmiley

Got 23,000 out of my AV72 Cobra with beads. Running Exedra 701 again but with beads. 15,000 without them but so far its as smooth as the AV72 was.

I envy your tire life.  I live where they "chip coat" the roads.  Tires just get chewed up,  10K is a good life no matter what kind of tire one has.

I usually get around 15-16 k on my Cobras but I ride a bit hard at times.  I was not able to get a set last spring here in Canada.  So I went with metzlers.  This is my ride report on them.  Seems like a quality tire but has some big downfalls.  Rear is good but the Front has very stiff sidewalls and felt like I was on a steel wheel.  The multiple lines of grooves in the tire rumble some so they can be heard and felt through the bars like having a winter tire on.    Reducing the tire pressure to 32 was the only answer to the steel wheel problem.  Last set I'll own.  Kinda hoping they run off early.

Are Cobras still in production?  I heard they shut the plant down.

We have a lot chip seal on the back roads but on a rare occassion they redo them. US24 got chipped and sealed back in 09' for 20 mi. stretch. The dust from the chip' was so thick on the surrounding trees it looked like a "magical" world like in Chronicles Of Narnia thru the wardrobe portal.
